We consider higher-spin gravity in (Euclidean) AdS_4, dual to a free vector model on the 3d boundary. In the bulk theory, we study the linearized version of the Didenko-Vasiliev black hole solution: a particle that couples to the gauge fields of all spins through a BPS-like pattern of charges. We study the interaction between two such particles at leading order. The sum over spins cancels the UV divergences that occur when the two particles are brought close together, for (almost) any value of the relative velocity. This is a higher-spin enhancement of supergravitys famous feature, the cancellation of the electric and gravitational forces between two BPS particles at rest. In the holographic context, we point out that these Didenko-Vasiliev particles are just the bulk duals of bilocal operators in the boundary theory. For this identification, we use the Penrose transform between bulk fields and twistor functions, together with its holographic dual that relates twistor functions to boundary sources. In the resulting picture, the interaction between two Didenko-Vasiliev particles is just a geodesic Witten diagram that calculates the correlator of two boundary bilocals. We speculate on implications for a possible reformulation of the bulk theory, and for its non-locality issues.

Higher Spin Gravities are scarce, but covariant actions for them are even scarcer. We construct covariant actions for contractions of Chiral Higher Spin Gravity that represent higher spin extensions of self-dual Yang-Mills and self-dual Gravity theories. The actions give examples of complete higher spin theories both in flat and (anti)-de Sitter spaces that feature gauge and gravitational interactions. The actions are based on a new description of higher spin fields, whose origin can be traced to early works on twistor theory. The new description simplifies the structure of interactions. In particular, we find a covariant form of the minimal gravitational interaction for higher spin fields both in flat and anti-de Sitter space, which resolves some of the puzzles in the literature.
We give an explicit superspace construction of higher spin conserved supercurrents built out of $4D,mathcal{N}=1$ massless supermultiplets of arbitrary spin. These supercurrents are gauge invariant and generate a large class of cubic interactions between a massless supermultiplet with superspin $Y_1=s_1+1/2$ and two massless supermultiplets of arbitrary superspin $Y_2$. These interactions are possible only for $s_1geq 2Y_2$. At the equality, the supercurrent acquires its simplest form and defines the supersymmetric, higher spin extension of the linearized Bel-Robinson tensor.
We consider the propagation of totally symmetric bosonic fields on generic background spacetimes. The mutual compatibility of the dynamical equations and constraints severely constrains the set of geometries where consistent propagation is possible. To enlarge this set in this article we allow several background fields to be turned on. We were able to show that massive fields of spin s greater than or equal to three may consistently propagate in a large set of non-trivial spacetimes, such as asymptotically de-Sitter, flat and anti-de-Sitter black holes geometries, as long as certain conditions between the various background fields are met. For the special case of massive spin-2 fields the set of allowed spacetimes is larger and includes domain-wall-type geometries, such as the Freedman-Robertson-Walker metric. We comment on the assumptions underlying our study and on possible applications of our results.

We consider the holographic duality between 4d type-A higher-spin gravity and a 3d free vector model. It is known that the Feynman diagrams for boundary correlators can be encapsulated in an HS-algebraic twistorial expression. This expression can be evaluated not just on separate boundary insertions, but on entire finite source distributions. We do so for the first time, and find that the result Z_HS disagrees with the usual CFT partition function. While such disagreement was expected due to contact corrections, it persists even in their absence. We ascribe it to a confusion between on-shell and off-shell boundary calculations. In Lorentzian boundary signature, this manifests via wrong relative signs for Feynman diagrams with different permutations of the source points. In Euclidean, the signs are instead ambiguous, spoiling would-be linear superpositions. Framing the situation as a conflict between boundary locality and HS symmetry, we sacrifice locality and choose to take Z_HS seriously. We are rewarded by the dissolution of a long-standing pathology in higher-spin dS/CFT. Though we lose the connection to the local CFT, the precise form of Z_HS can be recovered from first principles, by demanding a spin-local boundary action.

We construct actions of higher spin fields interacting with gravity on AdS_5 backgrounds such that the Compton scattering amplitudes of the interaction are tree-level unitary. We then consider higher-spin fields in the Randall-Sundrum scenario. There, in the fermionic case, we construct a tree-level unitary action of higher spin fields interacting with branes and linearised gravity. In the bosonic case we show that this is not in general possible. A tree-level unitary action of bosonic higher spins interacting with linearised gravity and branes is only possible in the following cases: The brane is a pure tension brane and/or Dirichlet boundary conditions are imposed thereby making bosonic higher spin fields invisible to a brane observer. We finally show that higher spins in Randall-Sundrum II braneworlds can only be produced by (decay into) gravitons at trans-Planckian scales. We end by commenting on the possible relevance of higher-spin unparticles as Dark Matter candidates.
