The rotation of polarization occurs for light interacting with chiral materials. It requires the light states with opposite chiralities interact differently with the materials. We demonstrate analogous rotation of polarization also exists for chiral fermions interacting with quantum electrodynamics plasma with vorticity using chiral kinetic theory. We find that the rotation of polarization is perpendicular both to vorticity and fermion momentum. The effect also exists for chiral fermions in quantum chromodynamics plasma with vorticity. It could lead to generation of a vector current when the probe fermions contain momentum anisotropy.

We study the chiral vortical effect far from equilibrium in a strongly coupled holographic field theory. Rotation is represented as a perturbation via a gravito-magnetic field on top of a five-dimensional charged AdS Vaidya metric. We also introduce a momentum relaxation mechanism by linear scalar field backgrounds and study the CVE dynamics as function of the charges, temperature and momentum relaxation. The far from equilibrium behavior shows that the CVE builds up with a significant delay in time compared to the quasi instantaneous equilibration of the background metric. We also pay special attention to the effects of the gravitational contribution to the axial anomaly in the CVE of the axial current. We develop an analytic estimate of this delay and also compute the quasi-normal modes near equilibrium which determine the late time ring down.
We consider photonic vortical effect, i.e. the difference of the flows of left- and right-handed photons along the vector of angular velocity in rotating photonic medium. Two alternative frameworks to evaluate the effect are considered, both of which have already been tried in the literature. First, the standard thermal fied theory and, alternatively, Hawking-radiation-type derivation. In our earlier attempt to compare the two approaches, we found a crucial factor of two difference. Here we revisit the problem, paying more attention to details of infrared regularizations. We find out that introduction of an infinitesimal mass of the vector field brings the two ways of evaluating the chiral vortical effect into agreement with each other. Some implications, both on the theoretical and phenomenological sides, are mentioned.
We argue that the enhancement in the spin polarization of anti-hyperons compared to the polarization of the hyperons in noncentral relativistic heavy-ion collisions arises as a result of an interplay between the chiral and helical vortical effects. The chiral vortical effect generates the axial current of quarks along the vorticity axis while the recently found helical vortical effect generates the helicity flow -- the projection of the quarks polarization vector onto its momentum -- along the same axis. For massless fermions, the helical charge corresponds to a difference in the contributions of particles and anti-particles to the axial charge. Assuming that the spin of light quarks transfers to the strange quarks via the vector kaon states (the spin-vector dominance), we are able to describe the ratio of the (anti)hyperon spin polarizations, obtained by the STAR group, without fitting parameters. We also argue that the helical vortical effect dominates over the chiral vortical effect and the chiral magnetic effect in the generation of the electric current.
We consider the theory of Rarita-Schwinger field interacting with a field with spin 1/2, in the case of finite temperature, chemical potential and vorticity, and calculate the chiral vortical effect for spin 3/2. We have clearly demonstrated the role of interaction with the spin 1/2 field, the contribution of the terms with which to CVE is 6. Since the contribution from the Rarita-Schwinger field is -1, the overall coefficient in CVE is 6-1=5, which corresponds to the recent prediction of a gauge chiral anomaly for spin 3/2. The obtained values for the coefficients $mu^2$ and $T^2$ are proportional to each other, but not proportional to the spin, which indicates a possible new universality between the temperature-related and the chemical potential-related vortical effects. The results obtained allow us to speculate about the relationship between the gauge and gravitational chiral anomalies.
We have explored the multi-component structure of electrical conductivity of relativistic Fermionic and Bosonic fluid in presence of magnetic field by using Kubo approach. This is done by explicitly evaluating the thermo-magnetic vector current spectral functions using the real time formalism of finite temperature field theory and the Schwinger proper time formalism. In absence of magnetic field, the one-loop diagramatic representation of Kubo expression of any transport coefficients is exactly same with relaxation time approximation (RTA) based expression, but this equality does not hold for finite magnetic field picture due to lacking of proper implementation of quantum effect in latter approach. We have shown this discrepancy for particular transport coefficient - electrical conductivity, whose starting point in Kubo approach will be electromagnetic current-current correlator and its one-loop skeleton diagram carrying two scalar/Dirac propagators for scalar/Dirac fluid. Through a numerical comparison between RTA and Kubo expressions of conductivity components (parallel and perpendicular), we have attempted to interpret detail quantum field theoretical effect, contained by Kubo expression but not by RTA expression. In classical RTA expression we get magnetic field independent parallel conductivity due to zero Lorentz force but in field theoretical Kubo expression, it decreases and increases with the magnetic field for scalar and Dirac medium respectively due to Landau quantization effect. This parallel component of conductivity can be interpreted as zero momentum limit of quantum fluctuation with same Landau level internal lines. While for perpendicular component of conductivity, fluctuation with Landau level differences $pm 1$ are noticed, which might be a new realization of transportation in field theoretical sector.
