Static and dynamical aspects of nuclear systems are described through an extended time-dependent mean-field approach. The foundations of the formalism are presented, with highlights on the estimation of average values and their corresponding dispersions. In contrast to semiclassical transport models, the particular interest of this description lies on its intrinsic quantal character. The reliability of this approach is discussed by means of stopping-sensitive observables analysis in heavy-ion collisions in the range of 20 to 120 MeV per nucleon.

The short-range correlation (SRC) induced by the tensor force in the isosinglet neutron-proton interaction channel leads to a high-momentum tail (HMT) in the single-nucleon momentum distributions n(k) in nuclei. Owing to the remaining uncertainties about the tensor force, the shape of the nucleon HMT may be significantly different from the dilute interacting Fermi gas model prediction $n(k) sim1/k^4$ similar to the HMT in cold atoms near the unitary limit. Within an isospin- and momentum-dependent Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck transport model incorporating approximately the nucleon HMT, we investigate hard photon emissions in $^{14}$N+$^{12}$C and $^{48}$Ca+$^{124}$Sn reactions at beam energies around the Fermi energy. Imprints of different shapes of the HMT on the energy spectrum, angular distribution and transverse momentum spectrum of hard photons are studied. While the angular distribution does not carry any information about the shape of the nucleon HMT, the energy spectra and especially the mid-rapidity transverse momentum spectra of hard photons are found to bare strong imprints of the shapes of nucleon HMTs in the two colliding nuclei.
We introduce momentum-dependent scalar and vector fields into the Lorentz covariant relativistic BUU- (RBUU-) approach employing a polynomial ansatz for the relativistic nucleon-nucleon interaction. The momentum-dependent parametrizations are shown to be valid up to about 1 GeV/u for the empirical proton-nucleus optical potential. We perform numerical simulations for heavy-ion collisions within the RBUU-approach adopting momentum-dependent and momentum-independent mean-fields and calculate the transverse flow in and perpendicular to the reaction plane, the directivity distribution as well as subthreshold K+-production. By means of these observables we discuss the particular role of the momentum-dependent forces and their implications on the nuclear equation of state. We find that only a momentum-dependent parameter-set can explain the experimental data on the transverse flow in the reaction plane from 150 - 1000 MeV/u and the differential K+-production cross sections at 1 GeV/u at the same time.

Magnetic field effects on free nucleons are studied in peripheral collisions of $^{197}$Au + $^{197}$Au at energies ranging from 600 to 1500 MeV/nucleon by utilizing an isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model. With the help of angular distributions and two-particle angular correlators, the magnetic field effect at an impact parameter of 11 fm is found to be more obvious than at an impact parameter of 8 fm. Moreover, the results suggest that with an increase in the number of peripheral collisions, protons are more easily condensed with the magnetic field. Magnetic field effects are further investigated by the ratio of free neutrons to free protons as functions of a two-particle correlator $C_{2}$, four-particle correlator $C_{4}$ and six-particle correlator $C_{6}$ of angle $phi$, rapidity $Y$ and transverse momentum $p_{T}$. The results show that weak magnetic field effects could be revealed more clearly by these multiple-particle correlators, with the larger number of particle correlators demonstrating a clear signal. The results highlight a new method to search for weak signals using multi-particle correlators.
We consider different implementations of momentum-dependent hadronic mean-fields in the relativistic quantum molecular dynamics (RQMD) framework. First, Lorentz scalar implementation of Skyrme type potential is examined. Then, full implementation of Skyrme type potential as a Lorentz vector in the RQMD approach is proposed. We find that scalar implementation of Skyrme force is too weak to generate repulsion explaining observed data of sideward flows at $sqrt{s_{NN}}<10$ GeV, while vector implementation gives collective flows compatible with the data for a wide range of beam energies $2.7 <sqrt{s_{NN}}<20$ GeV. We show that our approach reproduces the negative proton directed flow at $sqrt{s_{NN}}>10$ GeV discovered by the experiments. We discuss the dynamical generation mechanisms of the directed flow within a conventional hadronic mean-field. A positive slope of proton directed flow is generated predominantly during compression stages of heavy-ion collisions by the strong repulsive interaction due to high baryon densities. In contrast, at the expansion stages of the collision, the negative directed flow is generated more strongly over the positive one by the tilted expansion and shadowing by the spectator matter. At lower collision energies $sqrt{s_{NN}}<10$ GeV, the positive flow wins against the negative flow because of a long compression time. On the other hand, at higher energies $sqrt{s_{NN}}>10$ GeV, negative flow wins because of shorter compression time and longer expansion time. A transition beam energy from positive to negative flow is highly sensitive to the strength of the interaction.
We propose the skewness of mean transverse momentum, $langle p_t rangle$, fluctuations as a fine probe of hydrodynamic behavior in relativistic nuclear collisions. We describe how the skewness of the $langle p_t rangle$ distribution can be analyzed experimentally, and we use hydrodynamic simulations to predict its value. We predict in particular that $langle p_t rangle$ fluctuations have positive skew, which is significantly larger than if particles were emitted independently. We elucidate the origin of this result by deriving generic formulas relating the fluctuations of $langle p_t rangle$ to the fluctuations of the early-time thermodynamic quantities. We postulate that the large positive skewness of $langle p_t rangle$ fluctuations is a generic prediction of hydrodynamic models.
