The Q1 lattice equation, a member in the Adler-Bobenko-Suris list of 3D consistent lattices, is investigated. By using the multidimensional consistency, a novel Lax pair for Q1 equation is given, which can be nonlinearised to produce integrable symplectic maps. Consequently, a Riemann theta function expression for the discrete potential is derived with the help of the Baker-Akhiezer functions. This expression leads to the algebro-geometric integration of the Q1 lattice equation, based on the commutativity of discrete phase flows generated from the iteration of integrable symplectic maps.

We consider an integrable generalization of the nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation that was recently derived by one of the authors using bi-Hamiltonian methods. This equation is related to the NLS equation in the same way that the Camassa Holm equation is related to the KdV equation. In this paper we: (a) Use the bi-Hamiltonian structure to write down the first few conservation laws. (b) Derive a Lax pair. (c) Use the Lax pair to solve the initial value problem. (d) Analyze solitons.
We provide a construction of the two-component Camassa-Holm (CH-2) hierarchy employing a new zero-curvature formalism and identify and describe in detail the isospectral set associated to all real-valued, smooth, and bounded algebro-geometric solutions of the $n$th equation of the stationary CH-2 hierarchy as the real $n$-dimensional torus $mathbb{T}^n$. We employ Dubrovin-type equations for auxiliary divisors and certain aspects of direct and inverse spectral theory for self-adjoint singular Hamiltonian systems. In particular, we employ Weyl-Titchmarsh theory for singular (canonical) Hamiltonian systems. While we focus primarily on the case of stationary algebro-geometric CH-2 solutions, we note that the time-dependent case subordinates to the stationary one with respect to isospectral torus questions.
Symplectic mappings are discrete-time analogs of Hamiltonian systems. They appear in many areas of physics, including, for example, accelerators, plasma, and fluids. Integrable mappings, a subclass of symplectic mappings, are equivalent to a Twist map, with a rotation number, constant along the phase trajectory. In this letter, we propose a succinct expression to determine the rotation number and present two examples. Similar to the period of the bounded motion in Hamiltonian systems, the rotation number is the most fundamental property of integrable maps and it provides a way to analyze the phase-space dynamics.

We analyze initial-boundary value problems for an integrable generalization of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation formulated on the half-line. In particular, we investigate the so-called linearizable boundary conditions, which in this case are of Robin type. Furthermore, we use a particular solution to verify explicitly all the steps needed for the solution of a well-posed problem.
We present several methods, which utilize symplectic integration techniques based on two and three part operator splitting, for numerically solving the equations of motion of the disordered, discrete nonlinear Schrodinger (DDNLS) equation, and compare their efficiency. Our results suggest that the most suitable methods for the very long time integration of this one-dimensional Hamiltonian lattice model with many degrees of freedom (of the order of a few hundreds) are the ones based on three part splits of the systems Hamiltonian. Two part split techniques can be preferred for relatively small lattices having up to $Napprox;$70 sites. An advantage of the latter methods is the better conservation of the systems second integral, i.e. the wave packets norm.
