The INTERSPEECH 2020 Far-Field Speaker Verification Challenge (FFSVC 2020) addresses three different research problems under well-defined conditions: far-field text-dependent speaker verification from single microphone array, far-field text-independent speaker verification from single microphone array, and far-field text-dependent speaker verification from distributed microphone arrays. All three tasks pose a cross-channel challenge to the participants. To simulate the real-life scenario, the enrollment utterances are recorded from close-talk cellphone, while the test utterances are recorded from the far-field microphone arrays. In this paper, we describe the database, the challenge, and the baseline system, which is based on a ResNet-based deep speaker network with cosine similarity scoring. For a given utterance, the speaker embeddings of different channels are equally averaged as the final embedding. The baseline system achieves minDCFs of 0.62, 0.66, and 0.64 and EERs of 6.27%, 6.55%, and 7.18% for task 1, task 2, and task 3, respectively.

This paper describes the Microsoft speaker diarization system for monaural multi-talker recordings in the wild, evaluated at the diarization track of the VoxCeleb Speaker Recognition Challenge(VoxSRC) 2020. We will first explain our system design to address issues in handling real multi-talker recordings. We then present the details of the components, which include Res2Net-based speaker embedding extractor, conformer-based continuous speech separation with leakage filtering, and a modified DOVER (short for Diarization Output Voting Error Reduction) method for system fusion. We evaluate the systems with the data set provided by VoxSRCchallenge 2020, which contains real-life multi-talker audio collected from YouTube. Our best system achieves 3.71% and 6.23% of the diarization error rate (DER) on development set and evaluation set, respectively, being ranked the 1st at the diarization track of the challenge.

The ConferencingSpeech 2021 challenge is proposed to stimulate research on far-field multi-channel speech enhancement for video conferencing. The challenge consists of two separate tasks: 1) Task 1 is multi-channel speech enhancement with single microphone array and focusing on practical application with real-time requirement and 2) Task 2 is multi-channel speech enhancement with multiple distributed microphone arrays, which is a non-real-time track and does not have any constraints so that participants could explore any algorithms to obtain high speech quality. Targeting the real video conferencing room application, the challenge database was recorded from real speakers and all recording facilities were located by following the real setup of conferencing room. In this challenge, we open-sourced the list of open source clean speech and noise datasets, simulation scripts, and a baseline system for participants to develop their own system. The final ranking of the challenge will be decided by the subjective evaluation which is performed using Absolute Category Ratings (ACR) to estimate Mean Opinion Score (MOS), speech MOS (S-MOS), and noise MOS (N-MOS). This paper describes the challenge, tasks, datasets, and subjective evaluation. The baseline system which is a complex ratio mask based neural network and its experimental results are also presented.
This report describes our submission to the VoxCeleb Speaker Recognition Challenge (VoxSRC) at Interspeech 2020. We perform a careful analysis of speaker recognition models based on the popular ResNet architecture, and train a number of variants using a range of loss functions. Our results show significant improvements over most existing works without the use of model ensemble or post-processing. We release the training code and pre-trained models as unofficial baselines for this years challenge.
In this work, we present the system description of the UIAI entry for the short-duration speaker verification (SdSV) challenge 2020. Our focus is on Task 1 dedicated to text-dependent speaker verification. We investigate different feature extraction and modeling approaches for automatic speaker verification (ASV) and utterance verification (UV). We have also studied different fusion strategies for combining UV and ASV modules. Our primary submission to the challenge is the fusion of seven subsystems which yields a normalized minimum detection cost function (minDCF) of 0.072 and an equal error rate (EER) of 2.14% on the evaluation set. The single system consisting of a pass-phrase identification based model with phone-discriminative bottleneck features gives a normalized minDCF of 0.118 and achieves 19% relative improvement over the state-of-the-art challenge baseline.

This paper describes the systems submitted by team HCCL to the Far-Field Speaker Verification Challenge. Our previous work in the AIshell Speaker Verification Challenge 2019 shows that the powerful modeling abilities of Neural Network architectures can provide exceptional performance for this kind of task. Therefore, in this challenge, we focus on constructing deep Neural Network architectures based on TDNN, Resnet and Res2net blocks. Most of the developed systems consist of Neural Network embeddings are applied with PLDA backend. Firstly, the speed perturbation method is applied to augment data and significant performance improvements are achieved. Then, we explore the use of AMsoftmax loss function and propose to join a CE-loss branch when we train model using AMsoftmax loss. In addition, the impact of score normalization on performance is also investigated. The final system, a fusion of four systems, achieves minDCF 0.5342, EER 5.05% on task1 eval set, and achieves minDCF 0.5193, EER 5.47% on task3 eval set.
