The cooperative control applied to vehicles allows the optimization of traffic on the roads. There are many aspects to consider in the case of the operation of autonomous vehicles on highways since there are different external parameters that can be involved in the analysis of a network. In this paper, we present the design and simulation of adaptive control for a platoon with heterogeneous vehicles, taking into account that not all vehicles can communicate their control input, and in turn include structured nonlinear uncertainty input parameters.
This paper concentrates on the study of the decentralized fuzzy control method for a class of fractional-order interconnected systems with unknown control directions. To overcome the difficulties caused by the multiple unknown control directions in fractional-order systems, a novel fractional-order Nussbaum function technique is proposed. This technique is much more general than those of existing works since it not only handles single/multiple unknown control directions but is also suitable for fractional/integer-order single/interconnected systems. Based on this technique, a new decentralized adaptive control method is proposed for fractional-order interconnected systems. Smooth functions are introduced to compensate for unknown interactions among subsystems adaptively. Furthermore, fuzzy logic systems are utilized to approximate unknown nonlinearities. It is proven that the designed controller can guarantee the boundedness of all signals in interconnected systems and the convergence of tracking errors. Two examples are given to show the validity of the proposed method.
Adaptive synchronization protocols for heterogeneous multi-agent network are investigated. The interaction between each of the agents is carried out through a directed graph. We highlight the lack of communication between agents and the presence of uncertainties in each system among the conventional problems that can arise in cooperative networks. Two methodologies are presented to deal with the uncertainties: A strategy based on robust optimal control and a strategy based on neural networks. Likewise, an input estimation methodology is designed to face the disconnection that any agent may present on the network. These control laws can guarantee synchronization between agents even when there are disturbances or no communication from any agent. Stability and boundary analyzes are performed. Cooperative cruise control simulation results are shown to validate the performance of the proposed control methods.
This paper studies output synchronization problems for heterogeneous networks of continuous- or discrete-time right-invertible linear agents in presence of unknown, non-uniform and arbitrarily large input delay based on localized information exchange. It is assumed that all the agents are introspective, meaning that they have access to their own local measurements. Universal linear protocols are proposed for each agent to achieve output synchronizations. Proposed protocols are designed solely based on the agent models using no information about communication graph and the number of agents or other agent models information. Moreover, the protocols can tolerate arbitrarily large input delays.
The paper introduces a Data-driven Hierarchical Control (DHC) structure to improve performance of systems operating under the effect of system and/or environment uncertainty. The proposed hierarchical approach consists of two parts: 1) A data-driven model identification component to learn a linear approximation between reference signals given to an existing lower-level controller and uncertain time-varying plant outputs. 2) A higher-level controller component that utilizes the identified approximation and wraps around the existing controller for the system to handle modeling errors and environment uncertainties during system deployment. We derive loose and tight bounds for the identified approximations sensitivity to noisy data. Further, we show that adding the higher-level controller maintains the original systems stability. A benefit of the proposed approach is that it requires only a small amount of observations on states and inputs, and it thus works online; that feature makes our approach appealing to robotics applications where real-time operation is critical. The efficacy of the DHC structure is demonstrated in simulation and is validated experimentally using aerial robots with approximately-known mass and moment of inertia parameters and that operate under the influence of ground effect.
In this paper, we study delayed regulated state/output synchronization for discrete-time homogeneous and heterogeneous networks of multi-agent systems (MAS) subject to unknown, non-uniform and arbitrarily large communication delays. A delay transformation is utilized to transform the original MAS to a new system without delayed states. The proposed scale-free dynamic protocols are developed solely based on agent models and localized information exchange with neighbors such that we do not need any information about the communication networks and the number of agents.
