We estimate the neutrino emission from the decay chain of the $pi$-meson and $mu$-lepton, produced by proton-proton inelastic scattering in energetic ($E_{rm iso}gtrsim 10^{52}$~erg) long gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), within the type I binary-driven hypernova (BdHN) model. The BdHN I progenitor is textcolor{red}{a} binary system composed of a carbon-oxygen star (CO$_{rm core}$) and a neutron star (NS) companion. The CO$_{rm core}$ explosion as supernova (SN) triggers a massive accretion process onto the NS. For short orbital periods of few minutes, the NS reaches the critical mass, hence forming a black hole (BH). Recent numerical simulations of the above scenario show that the SN ejecta becomes highly asymmetric, creating a textit{cavity} around the newborn BH site, due to the NS accretion and gravitational collapse. Therefore, the electron-positron ($e^{pm}$) plasma created in the BH formation, during its isotropic and self-accelerating expansion, engulfs different amounts of ejecta baryons along different directions, leading to a direction-dependent Lorentz factor. The protons engulfed inside the high-density ($sim 10^{23}$~particle/cm$^3$) ejecta reach energies in the range $1.24lesssim E_plesssim 6.14$ GeV and interact with the unshocked protons in the ejecta. The protons engulfed from the low density region around the BH reach energies $sim 1$ TeV and interact with the low-density ($sim1$~particle/cm$^3$) protons of the interstellar medium (ISM). The above interactions give rise, respectively, to neutrino energies $E_{ u}leq 2$ GeV and $10leq E_{ u}leq 10^3$ GeV, and for both cases we calculate the spectra and luminosity.

We explore possible physical origin of correlation between radio wave and very-high-energy neutrino emission in active galactic nuclei (AGN), suggested by recently reported evidence for correlation between neutrino arrival directions and positions of brightest radio-loud AGN. We show that such correlation is expected if both synchrotron emitting electrons and neutrinos originate from decays of charged pions produced in proton-proton interactions in parsec-scale relativistic jet propagating through circum-nuclear medium of the AGN.
A new high precision measurement of the reaction pp -> pK+Lambda at a beam momentum of 2.95 GeV/c with more than 200,000 analyzed events allows a detailed analysis of differential observables and their inter-dependencies. Correlations of the angular distributions with momenta are examined. The invariant mass distributions are compared for different regions in the Dalitz plots. The cusp structure at the N Sigma threshold is described with the Flatte formalism and its variation in the Dalitz plot is analyzed.
The production of K^+ mesons in pA (A = D, C, Cu, Ag, Au) collisions has been investigated at the COoler SYnchrotron COSY-Julich for beam energies T_p = 1.0 - 2.3 GeV. Double differential inclusive pC cross sections at forward angles theta < 12 degrees as well as the target-mass dependence of the K^+ momentum spectra have been measured with the ANKE spectrometer. Far below the free NN threshold at T_{NN}=1.58 GeV the spectra reveal a high degree of collectivity in the target nucleus. From the target-mass dependence of the cross sections at higher energies, the repulsive in-medium potential of K^+ mesons can be deduced. Using pN cross-section parameterisations from literature and our measured pD data we derive a cross-section ratio of sigma(pn -> K^+ X) / sigma(pp -> K^+ X) ~ (3-4).
The Lambda polarization, the analyzing power, and the Lambda spin transfer coefficient of the reaction pp -> p K+ Lambda were measured at beam momenta of 2.70 GeV/c and 2.95 GeV/c, corresponding to excess energies of 122 MeV and 204 MeV. While the analyzing power and the spin transfer coefficient do not change significantly with the excess energy, the Lambda polarization varies strongly and changes its sign. As this is the first measurement of polarization observables below an excess energy of 200 MeV, the change of the sign of the Lambda polarization was not observed before. The high statistics of the data (~200 k events for each momentum) enables detailed studies of the dependence of the Lambda polarization and the analyzing power on the center of mass momentum of the particles. The results of the spin transfer coefficient are in qualitative agreement with the DISTO experiment. The Lambda polarization data of 2.95 GeV/c are only conform with the DISTO experiment, while both the 2.70 GeV/c and 2.95 GeV/c data differ strongly from all previous measurements, whether exclusive or inclusive.

The production of the Lambda and Sigma0 hyperons has been measured via the pp->pK+Lambda / Sigma0 reaction at the internal COSY-11 facility in the excess energy range between 14 and 60 MeV. The transition of the Lambda/Sigma0 cross section ratio from about 28 at Q<=13 MeV to the high energy level of about 2.5 is covered by the data showing a strong decrease of the ratio between 10 and 20 MeV excess energy. Effects from the final state interactions in the p-Sigma0 channel seem to be much smaller compared to the p-Lambda one. Estimates of the effective range parameters are given for the N-Lambda and the N-Sigma systems.
