In this paper, we discuss the theoretical framework and the experimental measurements of the magnetic moment of the charm baryons. The $Lambda_c^+$ magnetic moment is particularly interesting since it is equal to the magnetic moment of the charm quark. The measurements of the magnetic moments of other charm baryons, such as $Xi_c$, allow to perform detailed spectroscopy studies. The magnetic moment of the $Lambda_c$ can be determined using radiative charmonium decay and the present results show a tension with majority of theoretical predictions. As recently pointed out, the magnetic moment of the charm baryons can be directly measured using bent-crystal experiments at LHC. The possibility of precisely measure the magnetic moments of charm baryons needs precise measurement of their polarisation and weak decay parameters. In this paper, we revisit the formalism of the angular analysis needed for these measurements and make a detailed evaluation of initial polarisation of deflected $Lambda_c$ baryons as a function of crystal orientation. We found a special orientation of the crystal that gives the opportunity to measure the $Lambda_c$ dimensionless electric dipole moment almost with the same precision as its $g$-factor, which is more than an order of magnitude more efficient than suggested before. In conclusion, we stress the importance to perform precise measurements of initial polarisation and weak decay parameters of $Lambda_c$ baryon to effectively compare the direct and from decay measurements of magnetic moments.

We describe a new technique to determine the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon coming from the hadronic vacuum polarization using lattice QCD. Our method reconstructs the Adler function, using Pad{e} approximants, from its derivatives at $q^2=0$ obtained simply and accurately from time-moments of the vector current-current correlator at zero spatial momentum. We test the method using strange quark correlators on large-volume gluon field configurations that include the effect of up and down (at physical masses), strange and charm quarks in the sea at multiple values of the lattice spacing and multiple volumes and show that 1% accuracy is achievable. For the charm quark contributions we use our previously determined moments with up, down and strange quarks in the sea on very fine lattices. We find the (connected) contribution to the anomalous moment from the strange quark vacuum polarization to be $a_mu^s = 53.41(59) times 10^{-10}$, and from charm to be $a_mu^c = 14.42(39)times 10^{-10}$. These are in good agreement with flavour-separated results from non-lattice methods, given caveats about the comparison. The extension of our method to the light quark contribution and to that from the quark-line disconnected diagram is straightforward.
We describe a new technique (presented in arXiv:1403.1778) to determine the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment (g-2) of the muon coming from the hadronic vacuum polarisation using lattice QCD. Our method uses Pad{e} approximants to reconstruct the Adler function from its derivatives at $q^2=0$. These are obtained simply and accurately from time-moments of the vector current-current correlator at zero spatial momentum. We test the method using strange quark correlators calculated on MILC Collaborations $n_f$ = 2+1+1 HISQ ensembles at multiple values of the lattice spacing, multiple volumes and multiple light sea quark masses (including physical pion mass configurations).
The gluon condensate, $langle frac{alpha_s}{pi} G^2 rangle$, i.e. the leading order power correction in the operator product expansion of current correlators in QCD at short distances, is determined from $e^+ e^-$ annihilation data in the charm-quark region. This determination is based on finite energy QCD sum rules, weighted by a suitable integration kernel to (i) account for potential quark-hadron duality violations, (ii) enhance the contribution of the well known first two narrow resonances, the $J/psi$ and the $psi(2S)$, while quenching substantially the data region beyond, and (iii) reinforce the role of the gluon condensate in the sum rules. By using a kernel exhibiting a singularity at the origin, the gluon condensate enters the Cauchy residue at the pole through the low energy QCD expansion of the vector current correlator. These features allow for a reasonably precise determination of the condensate, i.e. $langle frac{alpha_s}{pi} G^2 rangle =0.037 ,pm, 0.015 ;{mbox{GeV}}^4$.
We report a lattice QCD calculation of the strange quark contribution to the nucleons magnetic moment and charge radius. This analysis presents the first direct determination of strange electromagnetic form factors including at the physical pion mass. We perform a model-independent extraction of the strange magnetic moment and the strange charge radius from the electromagnetic form factors in the momentum transfer range of $0.051 ,text{GeV}^2 lesssim Q^2 lesssim 1.31 ,text{GeV}^2 $. The finite lattice spacing and finite volume corrections are included in a global fit with $24$ valence quark masses on four lattices with different lattice spacings, different volumes, and four sea quark masses including one at the physical pion mass. We obtain the strange magnetic moment $G^s_M(0) = - 0.064(14)(09), mu_N$. The four-sigma precision in statistics is achieved partly due to low-mode averaging of the quark loop and low-mode substitution to improve the statistics of the nucleon propagator. We also obtain the strange charge radius $langle r_s^2rangle_E = -0.0043 (16)(14),$ $text{fm}^2$.
The LHCb collaboration has recently performed a first measurement of the angular production asymmetry in the distribution of beauty quarks and anti-quarks at a hadron collider. We calculate the corresponding standard model prediction for this asymmetry at fixed-order in perturbation theory. Our results show good agreement with the data, which is provided differentially for three bins in the invariant mass of the $b bar b$ system. We also present similar predictions for both beauty-quark and charm-quark final states within the LHCb acceptance for a collision energy of $sqrt{s} = 13 , {rm TeV}$. We finally point out that a measurement of the ratio of the $b bar b$ and $c bar c$ cross sections may be useful for experimentally validating charm-tagging efficiencies.
