Gravitational Waves (GWs) can determine the luminosity distance of the progenitor directly from the amplitude of the wave, without assuming any specific cosmological model. Thus, it can be considered as a standard siren. The coalescence of binary neutron stars (BNS) or neutron star-black hole pair (NSBH) can generate GWs as well as the electromagnetic counterpart, which can be detected in a form of Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRB) and can be used to determine the redshift of the source. Consequently, such a standard siren can be a very useful probe to constrain the cosmological parameters. In this work, we consider an interacting Dark Matter-Dark Energy (DM-DE) model. Assuming some fiducial values for the parameters of our model, we simulate the luminosity distance for a realistic and optimistic GW+GRB events , which can be detected by the third-generation GW detector Einstein Telescope (ET). Using these simulated events, we perform a Monte Carlo Markov Chain (MCMC) to constrain the DM-DE coupling constant and other model parameters in $1sigma$ and $2sigma$ confidence levels. We also investigate how GWs can improve the constraints obtained by current cosmological probes.

We study the holographic dark energy (HDE) model by using the future gravitational wave (GW) standard siren data observed from the Einstein Telescope (ET) in this work. We simulate 1000 GW standard siren data based on a 10-year observation of the ET to make this analysis. We find that all the cosmological parameters in the HDE model can be tremendously improved by including the GW standard siren data in the cosmological fit. The GW data combined with the current cosmic microwave background anisotropies, baryon acoustic oscillations, and type Ia supernovae data will measure the cosmological parameters $Omega_{rm m}$, $H_0$, and $c$ in the HDE model to be at the accuracies of 1.28%, 0.59%, and 3.69%, respectively. A comparison with the cosmological constant model and the constant-$w$ dark energy model shows that, compared to the standard model, the parameter degeneracies will be broken more thoroughly in a dynamical dark energy model. We find that the GW data alone can provide a fairly good measurement for $H_0$, but for other cosmological parameters the GW data alone can only provide rather weak measurements. However, due to the fact that the parameter degeneracies can be broken by the GW data, the standard sirens can play an essential role in improving the parameter estimation.
We consider a dark energy scenario driven by a scalar field $phi$ with a pseudo Nambu Goldstone boson (pNGB) type potential $V(phi)=mu^4 left( 1+ {rm cos}(phi/f) right)$. The pNGB originates out of breaking of spontaneous symmetry at a scale $f$ close to Planck mass $M_{rm{pl}}$. We consider two cases namely the quintessence dark energy and the other, where the standard pNGB action is modified by the terms related to Slotheon cosmology. We demonstrate that for this pNGB potential, high-$f$ problem is better addressed when interaction between dark matter and dark energy is taken into account and that Slotheon dark energy scenario works even better over quintessence in this respect. To this end, a mass limit for dark matter is also estimated.

We study a class of early dark energy models which has substantial amount of dark energy in the early epoch of the universe. We examine the impact of the early dark energy fluctuations on the growth of structure and the CMB power spectrum in the linear approximation. Furthermore we investigate the influence of the interaction between the early dark energy and the dark matter and its effect on the structure growth and CMB. We finally constrain the early dark energy model parameters and the coupling between dark sectors by confronting to different observations.
Interacting dark matter (DM) - dark energy (DE) models have been intensively investigated in the literature for their ability to fit various data sets as well as to explain some observational tensions persisting within the $Lambda$CDM cosmology. In this work, we employ Gaussian processes (GP) algorithm to perform a joint analysis by using the geometrical cosmological probes such as Cosmic chronometers, Supernova Type Ia, Baryon Acoustic Oscillations and the H0LiCOW lenses sample to infer a reconstruction of the coupling function between the dark components in a general framework, where the DE can assume a dynamical character via its equation of state. In addition to the joint analysis with these data, we simulate a catalog with standard siren events from binary neutron star mergers, within the sensitivity predicted by the Einstein Telescope, to reconstruct the dark sector coupling with more accuracy in a robust way. We find that the particular case, where $w = -1$ is fixed on the DE nature, has a statistical preference for an interaction in the dark sector at late times. In the general case, where $w(z)$ is analyzed, we find no evidence for such dark coupling, and the predictions are compatible with the $Lambda$CDM paradigm. When the mock events of the standard sirens are considered to improve the kernel in GP predictions, we find preference for an interaction in the dark sector at late times.
In this paper we study a model of interacting dark energy - dark matter where the ratio between these components is not constant, changing from early to late times in such a way that the model can solve or alleviate the cosmic coincidence problem (CP). The interaction arises from an assumed relation of the form $rho_xproptorho_d^alpha$, where $rho_x$ and $rho_d$ are the energy densities of dark energy and dark matter components, respectively, and $alpha$ is a free parameter. For a dark energy equation of state parameter $w=-1$ we found that, if $alpha=0$, the standard $Lambda$CDM model is recovered, where the coincidence problem is unsolved. For $0<alpha<1$, the CP would be alleviated and for $alphasim 1$, the CP would be solved. The dark energy component is analyzed with both $w=-1$ and $w eq -1$. Using Supernovae type Ia and Hubble parameter data constraints, in the case $w=-1$ we find $alpha=0.109^{+0.062}_{-0.072}$ at 68% C.L., and the CP is alleviated. This model is also slightly favoured against nonflat $Lambda$CDM model by using a Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC) analysis. For $w eq-1$, a degeneracy arises on the $w$ - $alpha$ plane. In order to break such degeneracy we add cosmic microwave background distance priors and baryonic acoustic oscillations data to the constraints, yielding $alpha=-0.075pm 0.046$ at 68% C.L.. In this case we find that the CP is not alleviated even for 2$sigma$ interval for $alpha$. Furthermore, this last model is discarded against nonflat $Lambda$CDM according to BIC analysis.
