Torus orbifolds are topological generalization of symplectic toric orbifolds. We give a construction of smooth orbifolds with torus actions whose boundary is a disjoint union of torus orbifolds using toric topological method. As a result, we show that any orientable locally standard torus orbifold is equivariantly cobordant to some copies of orbifold complex projective spaces. We also discuss some further equivariant cobordism results including the cases when torus orbifolds are actually torus manifolds.

In this paper, we calculate the coefficient ring of equivariant Thom complex cobordism for the symmetric group on three elements. We also make some remarks on general methods of calculating certain pullbacks of rings which typically occur in calculations of equivariant cobordism.
We consider the topological category of $h$-cobordisms between manifolds with boundary and compare its homotopy type with the standard $h$-cobordism space of a compact smooth manifold.
We give a new construction of the equivariant $K$-theory of group actions (cf. Barwick et al.), producing an infinite loop $G$-space for each Waldhausen category with $G$-action, for a finite group $G$. On the category $R(X)$ of retractive spaces over a $G$-space $X$, this produces an equivariant lift of Waldhausens functor $A(X)$, and we show that the $H$-fixed points are the bivariant $A$-theory of the fibration $X_{hH}to BH$. We then use the framework of spectral Mackey functors to produce a second equivariant refinement $A_G(X)$ whose fixed points have tom Dieck type splittings. We expect this second definition to be suitable for an equivariant generalization of the parametrized $h$-cobordism theorem.

Let $X$ be a $4$-dimensional toric orbifold. If $H^3(X)$ has a non-trivial odd primary torsion, then we show that $X$ is homotopy equivalent to the wedge of a Moore space and a CW-complex. As a corollary, given two 4-dimensional toric orbifolds having no 2-torsion in the cohomology, we prove that they have the same homotopy type if and only their integral cohomology rings are isomorphic.

We introduce a new homology theory of compact orbifolds called stratified simplicial homology (or st-homology for short) from some special kind of triangulations adapted to the orbifolds. In the definition of st-homology, the orders of the local groups of the points in an orbifold is encoded in the boundary map so that the theory can capture some structural information of the orbifold. We can prove that st-homology is an invariant under orbifold isomorhpisms and more generally under homotopy equivalences that preserve the orders of the local groups of all the strata. It turns out that the free part of st-homology of an orbifold can be interpreted by the usual simplicial homology of the orbifold and its singular set. So it is the torsion part of st-homology that can really give us new information of an orbifold. In general, the size of the torsion in the st-homology group of a compact orbifold is a nonlinear function on the orders of the local groups of the singular points which may reflect the complexity and the correlation of the singular points in the orbifold. Moreover, we introduce a wider class of objects called pseudo-orbifolds and develop the whole theory of st-homology in this setting.
