Motivated by the search for new integrable string models, we study the properties of massless tree-level S-matrices for 2d sigma models expanded near the trivial vacuum. We find that, in contrast to the standard massive case, there is no apparent link between massless S-matrices and integrability: in well-known integrable models the tree-level massless S-matrix fails to factorize and exhibits particle production. Such tree-level particle production is found in several classically integrable models: the principal chiral model, its classically equivalent pseudo-dual model, its non-abelian dual model and also the SO(N+1)/SO(N) coset model. The connection to integrability may, in principle, be restored if one expands near a non-trivial vacuum with massive excitations. We discuss IR ambiguities in 2d massless tree-level amplitudes and their resolution using either a small mass parameter or the i epsilon-regularization. In general, these ambiguities can lead to anomalies in the equivalence of the S-matrix under field redefinitions, and may be linked to the observed particle production in integrable models. We also comment on the transformation of massless S-matrices under sigma model T-duality, comparing the standard and the doubled formulations (with T-duality covariance built into the latter).

We show that the tree-level S-matrices of the superstring field theories based on the homotopy-algebra structure agree with those obtained in the first-quantized formulation. The proof is given in detail for the heterotic string field theory. The extensions to the type II and open superstring field theories are straightforward.
We use the numerical S-matrix bootstrap method to obtain bounds on the two leading Wilson coefficients of the chiral lagrangian controlling the low-energy dynamics of massless pions thus providing a proof of concept that the numerical S-matrix bootstrap can be used to derive non-perturbative bounds on EFTs in more than two spacetime dimensions.
Using duality in optimization theory we formulate a dual approach to the S-matrix bootstrap that provides rigorous bounds to 2D QFT observables as a consequence of unitarity, crossing symmetry and analyticity of the scattering matrix. We then explain how to optimize such bounds numerically, and prove that they provide the same bounds obtained from the usual primal formulation of the S-matrix Bootstrap, at least once convergence is attained from both perspectives. These techniques are then applied to the study of a gapped system with two stable particles of different masses, which serves as a toy model for bootstrapping popular physical systems.

We present a constructive derivation of all four-point tree-level holographic correlators for eleven dimensional supergravity on $AdS_7 times S^4$. These correlators correspond to four-point functions of arbitrary one-half BPS operators in the six-dimensional $(2,0)$ theory at large central charge. The crucial observation is that the polar part of the correlators in Mellin space is fully captured by a drastically simpler Maximally R-symmetry Violating (MRV) amplitude, while the contact part is fully fixed by superconformal Ward identities and the flat space limit.

Following recent work on GLSM localization, we work out curvature couplings for rigidly supersymmetric nonlinear sigma models with superpotential for general target spaces, describing both ordinary and twisted chiral superfields on round two-sphere worldsheets. We briefly discuss why, unlike four-dimensional theories, there are no constraints on Kahler forms in these theories. We also briefly discuss general issues in topological twists of such theories.
