We report on the first Belle search for a light CP-odd Higgs boson, $A^{0}$, that decays into low mass dark matter, $chi$, in final states with a single photon and missing energy. We search for events produced via the dipion transition $Upsilon(textrm{2S})rightarrowUpsilon(textrm{1S})pi^{+}pi^{-}$, followed by the on-shell process $Upsilon(textrm{1S})rightarrowgamma A^{0}$ with $A^{0} rightarrowchichi$, or by the off-shell process $Upsilon(textrm{1S})rightarrowgammachichi$. Utilizing a data sample of 157.3 $times$ 10$^{6}$ $Upsilon(textrm{2S})$ decays, we find no evidence for a signal. We set limits on the branching fractions of such processes in the mass ranges $M_{A^{0}} <$ 8.97 $textrm{GeV/}textit{c}^{2}$ and $M_{chi} <$ 4.44 $textrm{GeV/}textit{c}^{2}$. We then use the limits on the off-shell process to set competitive limits on WIMP-nucleon scattering in the WIMP mass range below 5 $textrm{GeV/}textit{c}^{2}$.

The DAMIC (Dark Matter in CCDs) experiment searches for the interactions of dark matter particles with the nuclei and the electrons in the silicon bulk of thick fully depleted charge-coupled devices (CCDs). Because of the low noise and low dark current, DAMIC CCDs are sensitive to the ionization signals expected from low-mass dark matter particles ($< 10$ GeV). A 40-gram target detector has collected data at the SNOLAB underground laboratory since 2017. Recent results from the searches for DM-electron scattering and hidden-photon absorption will be summarized and the status of WIMPs-nucleon search reported. A new detector -- DAMIC-M (DAMIC at Modane) -- with a mass-size of 1 kg and improved CCD readout is under design and will be installed at the underground laboratory of Modane, in France. The current status of DAMIC-M and the near future plans will be presented.
Many extensions of the Standard Model introduce a new type of weak-interacting degrees of freedom. These models are motivated by the results of recent experimental anomalies. Typical models, such as Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model and Light Hidden Dark-sector Model, introduce the possibilities of low-mass Higgs and dark bosons. The masses of such particles are expected to be few GeV and thus making them accessible at BESIII experiment, an $e^+e^-$ collider experiment running at tau-charm region. This report summarizes the recent results of low-mass Higgs and dark bosons searches at BESIII.
We study the process q q, g g -> A -> Z* h in a 2-Higgs Doublet Model Type-II where the mass of the CP-odd Higgs state $A$ is lower than the rest mass of the Z and h particles (the latter being the Standard Model-like Higgs state), i.e., m_A < m_Z+m_h = 215 GeV. This is a mass range which is not being currently tested by ATLAS and CMS in this channel, yet we show that there can be sensitivity to it already during Runs 2 and 3, assuming leptonic decays of the gauge boson and bottom-antibottom quark ones for the Higgs boson.
Several models of dark matter suggest the existence of dark sectors consisting of SU(3)_C x SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y singlet fields. These sectors of particles do not interact with the ordinary matter directly but could couple to it via gravity. In addition to gravity, there might be another very weak interaction between the ordinary and dark matter mediated by U(1) gauge bosons A (dark photons) mixing with our photons. In a class of models the corresponding dark gauge bosons could be light and have the $gamma$-A coupling strength laying in the experimentally accessible and theoretically interesting region. If such A mediators exist, their di-electron decays A -> e+e- could be searched for in a light-shining-through-a-wall experiment looking for an excess of events with the two-shower signature generated by a single high energy electron in the detector. A proposal to perform such an experiment aiming to probe the still unexplored area of the mixing strength 10^-5 < $epsilon$ < 10^-3 and masses M_A < 100 MeV by using 10-300 GeV electron beams from the CERN SPS is presented. The experiment can provide complementary coverage of the parameter space, which is intended to be probed by other searches. It has also a capability for a sensitive search for As decaying invisibly to dark-sector particles, such as dark matter, which could cover a significant part of the still allowed parameter space. The full running time of the proposed measurements is requested to be up to several months, and it could be taken at different SPS secondary beams.
The possibility of identification of an observable CMS $mu^+ mu^-$ excess at 28 GeV in the channel $ppto mu^+ mu^- b bar b$ at $sqrt{s}$=8 TeV and 13 TeV as a manifestation of one of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) Higgs bosons is investigated. The MSSM parametric scenarios in the regime of large threshold corrections involving low-mass CP-odd scalar, a 125 GeV CP-even scalar and other Higgs bosons with suitable masses are found, where the alignment limit conditions for the Higgs couplings are respected. Perturbative unitarity bounds and constraints on the electroweak vacuum stability are discussed in the regime of substantial couplings with the top- and bottom superpartners. LHC phenomenology including top-quark decay in such a regime is analyzed.
