The linearized spectrum and the algebra of global symmetries of conformal higher-spin gravity decompose into infinitely many representations of the conformal algebra. Their characters involve divergent sums over spins. We propose a suitable regularization adapted to their evaluation and observe that their characters are actually equal. This result holds in the case of type-A and type-B (and their higher-depth generalizations) theories and confirms previous observations on a remarkable rearrangement of dynamical degrees of freedom in conformal higher-spin gravity after regularization.

We study the spectrum of pure massless higher spin theories in $AdS_3$. The light spectrum is given by a tower of massless particles of spin $s=2,cdots,N$ and their multi-particles states. Their contribution to the torus partition function organises into the vacuum character of the ${cal W}_N$ algebra. Modular invariance puts constraints on the heavy spectrum of the theory, and in particular leads to negative norm states, which would be inconsistent with unitarity. This negativity can be cured by including additional light states, below the black hole threshold but whose mass grows with the central charge. We show that these states can be interpreted as conical defects with deficit angle $2pi(1-1/M)$. Unitarity allows the inclusion of such defects into the path integral provided $M geq N$.

We study the dS/CFT duality between minimal type-A higher-spin gravity and the free Sp(2N) vector model. We consider the bulk spacetime as elliptic de Sitter space dS_4/Z_2, in which antipodal points have been identified. We apply a technique from arXiv:1509.05890, which extracts the quantum-mechanical commutators (or Poisson brackets) of the linearized bulk theory in an *observable patch* of dS_4/Z_2 directly from the boundary 2-point function. Thus, we construct the Lorentzian commutators of the linearized bulk theory from the Euclidean CFT. In the present paper, we execute this technique for the entire higher-spin multiplet, using a higher-spin-covariant language, which provides a promising framework for the future inclusion of bulk interactions. Aside from its importance for dS/CFT, our construction of a Hamiltonian structure for a bulk causal region should be of interest within higher-spin theory itself. The price we pay is a partial symmetry breaking, from the full dS group (and its higher-spin extension) to the symmetry group of an observable patch. While the boundary field theory plays a role in our arguments, the results can be fully expressed within a boundary *particle mechanics*. Bulk fields arise from this boundary mechanics via a version of second quantization.
We develop a general formalism of duality rotations for bosonic conformal spin-$s$ gauge fields, with $sgeq 2$, in a conformally flat four-dimensional spacetime. In the $s=1$ case this formalism is equivalent to the theory of $mathsf{U}(1)$ duality-invariant nonlinear electrodynamics developed by Gaillard and Zumino, Gibbons and Rasheed, and generalised by Ivanov and Zupnik. For each integer spin $sgeq 2$ we demonstrate the existence of families of conformal $mathsf{U}(1)$ duality-invariant models, including a generalisation of the so called ModMax Electrodynamics ($s=1$). Our bosonic results are then extended to the $mathcal{N}=1$ and $mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric cases. We also sketch a formalism of duality rotations for conformal gauge fields of Lorentz type $(m/2, n/2)$, for positive integers $m $ and $n$.
Under the hypotheses of analyticity, locality, Lorentz covariance, and Poincare invariance of the deformations, combined with the requirement that the interaction vertices contain at most two spatiotemporal derivatives of the fields, we investigate the consistent interactions between a single massless tensor field with the mixed symmetry (3,1) and one massless tensor field with the mixed symmetry (2,2). The computations are done with the help of the deformation theory based on a cohomological approach, in the context of the antifield-BRST formalism. Our result is that dual linearized gravity in D=6 gets coupled to a purely spin-two field with the mixed symmetry of the Riemann tensor such that both the gauge transformations and first-order reducibility relations in the (3,1) sector are changed, but not the gauge algebra.

It is shown that similarly to massless superparticle, classical global symmetry of the Berkovits twistor string action is infinite-dimensional. We identify its superalgebra, whose finite-dimensional subalgebra contains $psl(4|4,mathbb R)$ superalgebra. In quantum theory this infinite-dimensional symmetry breaks down to $SL(4|4,mathbb R)$ one.
