Let $G$ be a finite $d$-regular graph with a proper edge coloring. An edge Kempe switch is a new proper edge coloring of $G$ obtained by switching the two colors along some bi-chromatic cycle. We prove that any other edge coloring can be obtained by performing finitely many edge Kempe switches, provided that $G$ is replaced with a suitable finite covering graph. The required covering degree is bounded above by a constant depending only on $d$.

Let $X=(V,E)$ be a finite simple connected graph with $n$ vertices and $m$ edges. A configuration is an assignment of one of two colors, black or white, to each edge of $X.$ A move applied to a configuration is to select a black edge $epsilonin E$ and change the colors of all adjacent edges of $epsilon.$ Given an initial configuration and a final configuration, try to find a sequence of moves that transforms the initial configuration into the final configuration. This is the edge-flipping puzzle on $X,$ and it corresponds to a group action. This group is called the edge-flipping group $mathbf{W}_E(X)$ of $X.$ This paper shows that if $X$ has at least three vertices, $mathbf{W}_E(X)$ is isomorphic to a semidirect product of $(mathbb{Z}/2mathbb{Z})^k$ and the symmetric group $S_n$ of degree $n,$ where $k=(n-1)(m-n+1)$ if $n$ is odd, $k=(n-2)(m-n+1)$ if $n$ is even, and $mathbb{Z}$ is the additive group of integers.

Considering regular graphs with every edge in a triangle we prove lower bounds for the number of triangles in such graphs. For r-regular graphs with r <= 5 we exhibit families of graphs with exactly that number of triangles and then classify all such graphs using line graphs and even cycle decompositions. Examples of ways to create such r-regular graphs with r >= 6 are also given. In the 5-regular case, these minimal graphs are proven to be the only regular graphs with every edge in a triangle which cannot have an edge removed and still have every edge in a triangle.
A k-valuation is a special type of edge k-colouring of a medial graph. Various graph polynomials, such as the Tutte, Penrose, Bollobas-Riordan, and transition polynomials, admit combinatorial interpretations and evaluations as weighted counts of k-valuations. In this paper, we consider a multivariate generating function of k-valuations. We show that this is a polynomial in k and hence defines a graph polynomial. We then show that the resulting polynomial has several desirable properties, including a recursive deletion-contraction-type definition, and specialises to the graph polynomials mentioned above. It also offers an alternative extension of the Penrose polynomial from plane graphs to graphs in other surfaces.

We solve a problem posed by Cardinali and Sastry [2] about factorization of $2$-covers of finite classical generalized quadrangles. To that end, we develop a general theory of cover factorization for generalized quadrangles, and in particular we study the isomorphism problem for such covers and associated geometries. As a byproduct, we obtain new results about semipartial geometries coming from $theta$-covers, and consider related problems.

In this paper, which is a sequel to cite{part1}, we proceed with our study of covers and decomposition laws for geometries related to generalized quadrangles. In particular, we obtain a higher decomposition law for all Kantor-Knuth generalized quadrangles which generalizes one of the main results in cite{part1}. In a second part of the paper, we study the set of all Kantor-Knuth ovoids (with given parameter) in a fixed finite parabolic quadrangle, and relate this set to embeddings of parabolic quadrangles into Kantor-Knuth quadrangles. This point of view gives rise to an answer of a question posed in cite{JATSEP}.
