Partial compositeness is a key ingredient of models where the electroweak symmetry is broken by a composite Higgs state. Recently, a UV completion of partial compositeness was proposed, featuring a new strongly coupled gauge interaction as well as new fundamental fermions and scalars. We work out the full flavor structure of the minimal realization of this idea and investigate in detail the consequences for flavor physics. While CP violation in kaon mixing represents a significant constraint on the model, we find many viable parameter points passing all precision tests. We also demonstrate that the recently observed hints for a violation of lepton flavor universality in $Bto K^{(*)}ellell$ decays can be accommodated by the model, while the anomalies in $Bto D^{(*)}tau u$ cannot be explained while satisfying LEP constraints on $Z$ couplings.

We study the flavor changing neutral current decays of the MSSM Higgs bosons into strange and bottom quarks. We focus on a scenario of minimum flavor violation here, namely only that induced by the CKM matrix. Taking into account constraint from $bto s gamma$, $deltarho$ as well as experimental constraints on the MSSM spectrum, we show that the branching ratio of $(Phito bbar{s})$ and $(Phi to bar{b}s)$ combined, for $Phi$ being either one of the CP even Higgs states, can reach the order $10^{-4}$-$10^{-3}$ for large $tanbeta$, large $mu$, and large $A_t$. The result illustrates the significance of minimal flavor violation scenario which can induce competitive branching fraction for flavor changing Higgs decays. This can be compared with the previous studies where similar branching fraction has been reported, but with additional sources of flavor violations in squark mass matrices. We also discuss some basic features of the flavor violating decays in the generic case.

Our ability to resolve new physics effects is, largely, limited by the precision with which we calculate. The calculation of observables in the Standard (or a new physics) Model requires knowledge of associated hadronic contributions. The precision of such calculations, and therefore our ability to leverage experiment, is typically limited by hadronic uncertainties. The only first-principles method for calculating the nonperturbative, hadronic contributions is lattice QCD. Modern lattice calculations have controlled errors, are systematically improvable, and in some cases, are pushing the sub-percent level of precision. I outline the role played by, highlight state of the art efforts in, and discuss possible future directions of lattice calculations in flavor physics.

The flavor problem is reviewed starting with the chiral symmetry, and the $A_4$ symmetry derivation and its realization in GUTs are presented.
We present a variant of the warped extra dimension, Randall-Sundrum (RS), framework which is based on five dimensional (5D) minimal flavor violation (MFV), in which the only sources of flavor breaking are two 5D anarchic Yukawa matrices. The Yukawa matrices also control the bulk masses, which are responsible for the resulting flavor structure and mass hierarchy in the low energy theory. An interesting result of this set-up is that at low energies the theory flows to next to MFV model where flavor violation is dominantly coming from the third generation. Low energy flavor violation is further suppressed by a single parameter that dials the amount of violation in the up or down sector. There is therefore a sharp limit in which there is no flavor violation in the down type quark sector which, remarkably, is favored when we fit for the flavor parameters. This mechanism is used to eliminate the current RS flavor and CP problem even with a Kaluza-Klein scale as low as 2 TeV! Our construction also suggests that economic supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric, strong dynamic-based, flavor models may be built based on the same concepts.
The flavor democracy hypothesis was introduced in seventies taking in mind three Standard Model (SM) families. Later, this idea was disfavored by the large value of the t-quark mass. In nineties the hypothesis was revisited assuming that extra SM families exist. According to flavor democracy the fourth SM family should exist and there are serious arguments disfavoring the fifth SM family. The fourth SM family quarks lead to essential enhancement of the Higgs boson production cross-section at hadron colliders and the Tevatron can discover the Higgs boson before the LHC, if it mass is between 140 and 200 GeV. Then, one can handle massless Dirac neutrinos without see-saw mechanism. Concerning BSM physics, flavor democracy leads to several consequences: tan(beta) approx.eq. 40 if there are three MSSM families; super-partner of the right-handed neutrino can be the LSP; relatively light E(6)-inspired isosinglet quark etc. Finally, flavor democracy may give opportunity to handle massless composite objects within preonic models.
