Macroscopic spontaneous coherence of exciton-polariton in semiconductor cavity is one important research field in condensed matter physics. All-inorganic micro/nanowire Fabry-Perot cavity with excellent optical performance makes it possible to realize strong coupling and lasing of exciton-photon at room temperature. In this work, we demonstrated strong coupling of exciton-photon and polariton lasing in CsPbBr3 micro/nanowires synthesized by CVD method. By exploring spatial resolved PL spectra of CsPbBr3 cavity, we observed mode volume dependent coupling strength , as well as significant increase in group index. Moreover, low threshold polariton lasing was achieved at room temperature within strong coupling regime; the polariton characteristic is confirmed by comparing lasing spectra with waveguided output spectra and the dramatically reduced lasing threshold. Our present results provide new avenues to achieve high coupling strengths potentially enabling application of exciting phenomena such as Bose-Einstein condensation of polaritons, efficient light-emitting diodes and lasers.

Polariton emission from optical cavities integrated with various luminophores has been extensively studied recently due to the wide variety of possible applications in photonics, particularly promising in terms of fabrication of low-threshold sources of coherent emission. Tuneable microcavities allow extensive investigation of the photophysical properties of matter placed inside the cavity by deterministically changing the coupling strength and controllable switching from weak to strong and ultra-strong coupling regimes. Here we demonstrate room temperature strong coupling of exciton transitions in CdSe/ZnS/CdS/ZnS colloidal quantum dots with the optical modes of a tuneable low-mode-volume microcavity. Strong coupling is evidenced by a large Rabi splitting of the photoluminescence spectra depending on the detuning of the microcavity. A coupling strength of 154 meV has been achieved. High quantum yields, excellent photostability, and scalability of fabrication of QDs paves the way to practical applications of coupled systems based on colloidal QDs in photonics, optoelectronics, and sensing.
We present a method to implement 3-dimensional polariton confinement with in-situ spectral tuning of the cavity mode. Our tunable microcavity is a hybrid system consisting of a bottom semiconductor distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) with a cavity containing quantum wells (QWs) grown on top and a dielectric concave DBR separated by a micrometer sized gap. Nanopositioners allow independent positioning of the two mirrors and the cavity mode energy can be tuned by controlling the distance between them. When close to resonance we observe a characteristic anticrossing between the cavity modes and the QW exciton demonstrating strong coupling. For the smallest radii of curvature concave mirrors of 5.6 $mu$m and 7.5 $mu$m real-space polariton imaging reveals submicron polariton confinement due to the hemispherical cavity geometry.
The advent of few-layer graphenes has given rise to a new family of two-dimensional systems with emergent electronic properties governed by relativistic quantum mechanics. The multiple carbon sublattices endow the electronic wavefunctions with pseudospin, a lattice analog of the relativistic electron spin, while the multilayer structure leads to electric field effect tunable electronic bands. Here we use these properties to realize giant conductance oscillations in ballistic trilayer graphene Fabry-Perot interferometers, which result from phase coherent transport through resonant bound states beneath an electrostatic barrier. We cloak these states by selectively decoupling them from the leads, resulting in transport via non-resonant states and suppression of the giant oscillations. Cloaking is achieved both classically, by manipulating quasiparticle momenta with a magnetic field, and quantum mechanically, by locally varying the pseudospin character of the carrier wavefunctions. Our results illustrate the unique potential of trilayer graphene as a versatile platform for electron optics and pseudospintronics.
We investigate the exciton complexes photoluminescence, dynamics and photon statistics in the concurrent strong weak coupling regime in our unique site controlled singular inverted pyramidal InGaAs/GaAs quantum dots photonic crystal cavities platform. Different from a clear boundary between strong and weak QD cavity coupling, we demonstrate the strong and weak coupling can coexist dynamically, as a form of intermediate regime mediated by phonon scattering. The detuning dependent microphotoluminescence spectrum reveals concurrence of exciton cavity polariton mode avoided crossing, as a signature of Rabi doublet of the strong coupled system, the blue shifting of coupled exciton cavity mode energy near zero detuning ascribed to the formation of collective states mediated by phonon assisted coupling, and their partial out of synchronization linewidth narrowing linked to their mixed behavior. By detailing the optical features of strongly confined exciton-photon complexes and the quantum statistics of coupled cavity photons, we reveal the dynamics and antibunching/bunching photon statistical signatures of the concurrent strong weak intermediate coupled system at near zero-detuning. This study suggests our device has potential for new and subtle cavity quantum electrodynamical phenomena, cavity enhanced indistinguishable single photon generation, and cluster state generation via the exciton-photon complexes for quantum networks.
We investigate the performance of niobium nitride superconducting coplanar waveguide resonators towards hybrid quantum devices with magnon-photon coupling. We find internal quality factors ~ 20000 at 20 mK base temperature, in zero magnetic field. We find that by reducing film thickness below 100 nm internal quality factor greater than 1000 can be maintained up to parallel magnetic field of ~ 1 T and perpendicular magnetic field of ~ 100 mT. We further demonstrate strong coupling of microwave photons in these resonators, with magnons in chromium trichloride, a van der Waals antiferromagnet, which shows that these cavities serve as a good platform for studying magnon-photon coupling in 2D magnonics based hybrid quantum systems. We demonstrate strong magnon-photon coupling for both optical and acoustic magnon modes of an antiferromagnet.
