The numbers of $psi(3686)$ events accumulated by the BESIII detector for the two rounds of data taking during 2009 and 2012 are determined to be $(107.0pm0.8)times 10^6$ and $(341.1pm 2.1)times 10^6$, respectively, by counting inclusive hadronic events, where the uncertainty is dominated by systematics and the statistical uncertainty is negligible. The number of events for the sample taken in 2009 is consistent with that of the previous measurement. The total number of $psi(3686)$ events for the two data-taking periods is $(448.1pm2.9)times10^6$.
A measurement of the number of $J/psi$ events collected with the BESIII detector in 2009 and 2012 is performed using inclusive decays of the $J/psi$ . The number of $J/psi$ events taken in 2009 is recalculated to be $(223.7pm1.4)times 10^6$, which is in good agreement with the previous measurement, but with significantly improved precision due to improvements in the BESIII software. The number of $J/psi$ events taken in 2012 is determined to be $(1086.9pm 6.0)times 10^6$. In total, the number of $J/psi$ events collected with the BESIII detector is measured to be $(1310.6pm 7.0)times 10^6$, where the uncertainty is dominated by systematic effects and the statistical uncertainty is negligible.
Motivated by a recent successful dynamical explanation for the newly observed fully-charm structure $X(6900)$ in the mass spectrum of di-$J/psi$ by LHCb [J.~Z.~Wang textit{et al.} arXiv:2008.07430], in this work, we extend the same dynamical rescattering mechanism to predict the line shape of more potential fully-heavy structures in the invariant mass spectrum of $J/psi psi(3686)$, $J/psi psi(3770)$, $psi(3686) psi(3686)$, and $J/psi Upsilon(1S)$ at high energy proton-proton collisions, whose verification in experiments should be helpful to further clarify the nature of $X(6900)$. The above final states of vector heavy quarkonia can be experimentally reconstructed more effectively by a $mu^+mu^-$ pair in the muon detector compared with $Qbar{Q}$ meson with other quantum numbers. Furthermore, the corresponding peak mass positions of each of predicted fully-heavy structures are also given. Our theoretical studies here could provide some valuable information for the future measurement proposals of LHCb and CMS, especially based on the accumulated data after completing Run III of LHC in the near future.
Based on a sample of $2.25times 10^{8} J/psi$ events taken with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we present the results of a study of the decay $J/psito eta phipi^{+}pi^{-}$. The $Y(2175)$ resonance is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of $phi f_{0}(980)$ with a statistical significance of greater than $10sigma$. The corresponding mass and width are determined to be $M=2200pm 6 mathrm{(stat.)} pm 5mathrm{(syst.)} mathrm{MeV}/c^{2}$ and $Gamma=104pm 15mathrm{(stat.)}pm 15mathrm{(syst.)}$ MeV, respectively, and the product branching fraction is measured to be $mathcal{B}(J/psitoeta Y(2175)$, $Y(2175)to phi f_{0}(980)$, $f_{0}(980)to pi^{+}pi^{-})= (1.20pm 0.14mathrm{(stat.)}pm 0.37 mathrm{(syst.)})times 10^{-4}$. The results are consistent within errors with those of previous experiments. We also measure the branching fraction of $J/psito phi f_1(1285)$ with $f_1(1285)to etapi^{+}pi^{-}$ and set upper limits on the branching fractions for $J/psito phieta(1405)$/$phi X(1835)$/$phi X(1870)$ with $eta(1405)$/$X(1835)$/$X(1870)to etapi^{+}pi^{-}$ at the 90% confidence level.
We observe the decay $psi(3686) to n bar{n}$ for the first time and measure $psi(3686) to p bar{p}$ with improved accuracy by using $1.07times 10^8$ $psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector. The measured branching fractions are $mathcal{B}(psi(3686) to n bar{n}) = (3.06 pm 0.06 pm 0.14)times 10^{-4}$ and $mathcal{B}(psi(3686) to p bar{p}) = (3.05 pm 0.02 pm 0.12) times 10^{-4}$. Here, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. With the hypothesis that the polar angular distributions of the neutron and proton in the center-of-mass system obey $1+alpha cos^2theta$, we determine the $alpha$ parameters to be $alpha_{nbar{n}} = 0.68 pm 0.12 pm 0.11$ and $alpha_{pbar{p}} = 1.03 pm 0.06 pm 0.03$ for $psi(3686)to nbar{n}$ and $psi(3686)to pbar{p}$, respectively.
The decay $J/psi rightarrow omega p bar{p}$ has been studied, using $225.3times 10^{6}$ $J/psi$ events accumulated at BESIII. No significant enhancement near the $pbar{p}$ invariant-mass threshold (denoted as $X(pbar{p})$) is observed. The upper limit of the branching fraction $mathcal{B}(J/psi rightarrow omega X(pbar{p}) rightarrow omega p bar{p})$ is determined to be $3.9times10^{-6}$ at the 95% confidence level. The branching fraction of $J/psi rightarrow omega p bar{p}$ is measured to be $mathcal{B}(J/psi rightarrow omega p bar{p}) =(9.0 pm 0.2 (text{stat.})pm 0.9 (text{syst.})) times 10^{-4}$.
