Using the data samples of $1.31times 10^9$ $J/psi$ events and $4.48times 10^8$ $psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, partial wave analyses on the decays $J/psi$ and $psi(3686) to pi^+pi^-eta^prime$ are performed with a relativistic covariant tensor amplitude approach. The dominant contribution is found to be $J/psi$ and $psi(3686)$ decays to $rhoeta^prime$. In the $J/psi$ decay, the branching fraction ${cal B}(J/psito rhoeta^prime)$ is determined to be $(7.90pm0.19(mathrm{stat})pm0.49(mathrm{sys}))times 10^{-5}$. Two solutions are found in the $psi(3686)$ decay, and the corresponding branching fraction ${cal B}(psi(3686)to rhoeta^prime)$ is $(1.02pm0.11(mathrm{stat})pm0.24(mathrm{sys}))times 10^{-5}$ for the case of constructive interference, and $(5.69pm1.28(mathrm{stat})pm2.36(mathrm{sys}))times 10^{-6}$ for destructive interference. As a consequence, the ratios of branching fractions between $psi(3686)$ and $J/psi$ decays to $rhoeta^prime$ are calculated to be $(12.9pm1.4(mathrm{stat})pm3.1(mathrm{sys}))$% and $(7.2pm1.6(mathrm{stat})pm3.0(mathrm{sys}))$%, respectively. We also determine the inclusive branching fractions of $J/psi$ and $psi(3686)$ decays to $pi^+pi^-eta^prime$ to be $(1.36pm0.02(mathrm{stat})pm0.08(mathrm{sys}))times 10^{-4}$ and $(1.51pm0.14(mathrm{stat})pm 0.23(mathrm{sys}))times 10^{-5}$, respectively.

We have measured several branching ratios for $psi^prime$ decay using the data collected by FNAL E835 experiment during year 2000, obtaining ${cal B}(psi^prime to e^+ e^-) = 0.0068pm0.0001pm0.0004$, ${cal B}(psi^prime to J/psi pi^+ pi^-) = 0.292pm0.005pm0.018$, ${cal B}(psi^prime to J/psi pi^0 pi^0) = 0.167pm0.005pm0.014$ and ${cal B}(psi^prime to J/psi eta) = 0.028pm0.002pm0.002$. We also present a measurement of the dipion mass distribution in the decays $psi^prime to J/psi pi pi$.
Using a data sample of $448.1times10^6$ $psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII, we perform search for the hadronic transition $h_crightarrowpi^+pi^-J/psi$ via $psi(3686)rightarrowpi^0h_c$. No signals of the transition are observed, and the upper limit on the product branching fraction $mathcal{B}(psi(3686)rightarrowpi^0h_c)mathcal{B}(h_crightarrowpi^+pi^-J/psi)$ at the 90% confidence level is determined to be $2.0times10^{-6}$. This is the most stringent upper limit to date.
Based on a sample of $2.25times 10^{8} J/psi$ events taken with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we present the results of a study of the decay $J/psito eta phipi^{+}pi^{-}$. The $Y(2175)$ resonance is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of $phi f_{0}(980)$ with a statistical significance of greater than $10sigma$. The corresponding mass and width are determined to be $M=2200pm 6 mathrm{(stat.)} pm 5mathrm{(syst.)} mathrm{MeV}/c^{2}$ and $Gamma=104pm 15mathrm{(stat.)}pm 15mathrm{(syst.)}$ MeV, respectively, and the product branching fraction is measured to be $mathcal{B}(J/psitoeta Y(2175)$, $Y(2175)to phi f_{0}(980)$, $f_{0}(980)to pi^{+}pi^{-})= (1.20pm 0.14mathrm{(stat.)}pm 0.37 mathrm{(syst.)})times 10^{-4}$. The results are consistent within errors with those of previous experiments. We also measure the branching fraction of $J/psito phi f_1(1285)$ with $f_1(1285)to etapi^{+}pi^{-}$ and set upper limits on the branching fractions for $J/psito phieta(1405)$/$phi X(1835)$/$phi X(1870)$ with $eta(1405)$/$X(1835)$/$X(1870)to etapi^{+}pi^{-}$ at the 90% confidence level.
Using a sample of $448.1times10^{6}$ $psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, a search for the isospin violating decay $eta_{c}topi^{+}pi^{-}pi^{0}$ via $psi(3686)togammaeta_{c}$ is presented. No signal is observed, and the upper limit on $mathcal{B}(psi(3686)to gammaeta_{c}to gammapi^{+}pi^{-}pi^{0} )$ is determined to be $1.6times10^{-6}$ at the $90%$ confidence level. In addition, a search for $eta(1405)to f_{0}(980)pi^{0}$ in $psi(3686)$ radiative decays is performed. No signal is observed, and the branching fraction $mathcal{B}(psi(3686)togammaeta(1405)to gamma f_{0}(980)pi^{0}togamma pi^+pi^-pi^0 )$ is calculated to be less than $ 5.0times10^{-7}$ at the $90%$ confidence level.
Based on $(106.41 pm 0.86)times 10^{6}$ $psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the branching fractions of $psi(3686) to pi^+pi^- J/psi$, $J/psi to e^+e^- $, and $J/psi to mu^+mu^-$ are measured. We obtain ${cal B}[psi(3686) to pi^+pi^-J/psi]=(34.98pm 0.02pm 0.45)%$, ${cal B}[J/psi to e^+e^-] = (5.983 pm 0.007 pm 0.037)%$ and ${cal B}[J/psi to mu^+mu^-] = (5.973 pm 0.007 pm 0.038)%$. The measurement of ${cal B}[psi(3686) to pi^{+}pi^{-}J/psi]$ confirms the CLEO-c measurement, and is apparently larger than the others. The measured $J/psi$ leptonic decay branching fractions agree with previous experiments within one standard deviation. These results lead to ${cal B}[J/psi to l^+l^-] = (5.978 pm 0.005 pm 0.040)%$ by averaging over the $e^{+}e^{-}$ and $mu^{+}mu^{-}$ channels and a ratio of ${cal B}[J/psi to e^+e^-] / {cal B}[J/psi to mu^+mu^-] = 1.0017 pm 0.0017 pm 0.0033$, which tests $e$-$mu$ universality at the four tenths of a percent level. All the measurements presented in this paper are the most precise in the world to date.
