We study the production of jets in hadronic collisions, by computing all contributions proportional to $alpha_S^nalpha^m$, with $n+m=2$ and $n+m=3$. These correspond to leading and next-to-leading order results, respectively, for single-inclusive and dijet observables in a perturbative expansion that includes both QCD and electroweak effects. We discuss issues relevant to the definition of hadronic jets in the context of electroweak corrections, and present sample phenomenological predictions for the 13-TeV LHC. We find that both the leading and next-to-leading order contributions largely respect the relative hierarchy established by the respective coupling-constant combinations.

We study ratios of azimuthal-angle distributions in Mueller-Navelet jets after imposing a rapidity veto constraint: the minijet radiation activity is restricted to only allow final-state partons separated at least a distance in rapidity $b$. It is well-known that the asymptotic growth with the rapidity separation of the two tagged jets of the NLLA BFKL Greens function requires a value of $b simeq {cal O} (2)$ in order to avoid unphysical cross sections. We further investigate this point from a phenomenological point of view and work out those values of $b$ which best fit angular distributions measured at the LHC in a realistic set-up where impact factors and parton distribution effects are also taken into account.
We have studied the effects of nonlinear scale evolution of the parton distribution functions to charm production in $pp$ collisions at center-of-mass energies of 5.5, 8.8 and 14 TeV. We find that the differential charm cross section can be enhanced up to a factor of 4-5 at low $p_T$. The enhancement is quite sensitive to the charm quark mass and the renormalization/factorization scales.
The production of WWZ at the LHC is an important process to test the quartic gauge couplings of the Standard Model as well as an important background for new physics searches. A good theoretical understanding at next-to-leading order (NLO) is therefore valuable. In this paper, we present the calculation of the NLO electroweak (EW) correction to this channel with on-shell gauge bosons in the final state. It is then combined with the NLO QCD correction to get the most up-to-date prediction. We study the impact of these corrections on the total cross section and some distributions. The NLO EW correction is small for the total cross section but becomes important in the high energy regime for the gauge boson transverse momentum distributions.
We calculate the full one-loop electroweak radiative corrections to the cross section of single W-boson inclusive hadroproduction at finite transverse momentum (p_T). This includes the O(alpha) corrections to W+j production, the O(alpha_s) corrections to W+gamma production, and the tree-level contribution from W+j photoproduction with one direct or resolved photon in the initial state. We present the integrated cross section as a function of a minimum-p_T cut as well as the p_T distribution for the experimental conditions at the Fermilab Tevatron and the CERN LHC and estimate the theoretical uncertainties.
We calculate the full one-loop electroweak radiative corrections, of ${cal O}(alpha^2alpha_s)$, to the cross section of single $Z$-boson inclusive hadroproduction at finite transverse momentum ($p_T$). This includes the ${cal O}(alpha)$ corrections to $Z+j$ production, the ${cal O}(alpha_s)$ corrections to $Z+gamma$ production, and certain QCD-electroweak interference contributions involving a single quark trace. We recover the QCD and purely weak corrections and study the QED corrections and the QCD-electroweak interference contributions for the first time. We also consider direct and resolved photoproduction in elastic and inelastic scattering. We present $p_T$ and rapidity distributions for the experimental conditions at the Fermilab Tevatron and the CERN LHC and assess the significance of the various contributions.
