We study the left-right asymmetric model based on SU(3)_C otimes SU(2)_L otimes SU(3)_R otimes U(1)_X gauge group, which improves the theoretical and phenomenological aspects of the known left-right symmetric model. This new gauge symmetry yields that the fermion generation number is three, and the tree-level flavor-changing neutral currents arise in both gauge and scalar sectors. Also, it can provide the observed neutrino masses as well as dark matter automatically. Further, we investigate the mass spectrum of the gauge and scalar fields. All the gauge interactions of the fermions and scalars are derived. We examine the tree-level contributions of the new neutral vector, Z_R, and new neutral scalar, H_2, to flavor-violating neutral meson mixings, say K-bar{K}, B_d-bar{B}_d, and B_s-bar{B}_s, which strongly constrain the new physics scale as well as the elements of the right-handed quark mixing matrices. The bounds for the new physics scale are in agreement with those coming from the rho-parameter as well as the mixing parameters between W, Z bosons and new gauge bosons.

We analyze the ultraviolet to infrared evolution and nonperturbative properties of asymptotically free ${rm SU}(N) otimes {rm SU}(N-4) otimes {rm U}(1)$ chiral gauge theories with $N_f$ copies of chiral fermions transforming according to $([2]_N,1)_{N-4} + ([bar 1]_N,[bar 1]_{N-4})_{-(N-2)} + (1,(2)_{N-4})_N$, where $[k]_N$ and $(k)_N$ denote the antisymmetric and symmetric rank-$k$ tensor representations of SU($N$) and the rightmost subscript is the U(1) charge. We give a detailed discussion for the lowest nondegenerate case, $N=6$. These theories can exhibit both self-breaking of a strongly coupled gauge symmetry and induced dynamical breaking of a weakly coupled gauge interaction symmetry due to fermion condensates produced by a strongly coupled gauge interaction. A connection with the dynamical breaking of ${rm SU}(2)_L otimes {rm U}(1)_Y$ electroweak gauge symmetry by the quark condensates $langle bar q qrangle$ due to color SU(3)$_c$ interactions is discussed. We also remark on direct-product chiral gauge theories with fermions in higher-rank tensor representations.

The models with the gauge group $SU(3)_ctimes SU(3)_L times U(1)_X$ (331-models) have been advocated to explain why there are three fermion generations in Nature. As such they can provide partial understanding of the flavour sector. The hierarchy of Yukawa-couplings in the Standard Model is another puzzle which remains without compelling explanation. We propose to use Froggatt-Nielsen -mechanism in a 331-model to explain both fundamental problems. It turns out that no additional representations in the scalar sector are needed to take care of this. The traditional 331-models predict scalar flavour changing neutral currents at tree-level. We show that they are strongly suppressed in our model.
In this paper we revisit the isomorphism $SU(2)otimes SU(2)cong SO(4)$ to apply to some subjects in Quantum Computation and Mathematical Physics. The unitary matrix $Q$ by Makhlin giving the isomorphism as an adjoint action is studied and generalized from a different point of view. Some problems are also presented. In particular, the homogeneous manifold $SU(2n)/SO(2n)$ which characterizes entanglements in the case of $n=2$ is studied, and a clear-cut calculation of the universal Yang-Mills action in (hep-th/0602204) is given for the abelian case.
We discuss proton decay in a recently proposed model of supersymmetric hybrid inflation based on the gauge symmetry $SU(4)_c times SU(2)_L times SU(2)_R$. A $U(1), R$ symmetry plays an essential role in realizing inflation as well as in eliminating some undesirable baryon number violating operators. Proton decay is primarily mediated by a variety of color triplets from chiral superfields, and it lies in the observable range for a range of intermediate scale masses for the triplets. The decay modes include $p rightarrow e^{+}(mu^+) + pi^0$, $p rightarrow bar{ u} + pi^{+}$, $p rightarrow K^0 + e^+(mu^{+})$, and $p rightarrow K^+ + bar{ u}$, with a lifetime estimate of order $10^{34}-10^{36}$ yrs and accessible at Hyper-Kamiokande and future upgrades. The unification at the Grand Unified Theory (GUT) scale $M_{rm GUT}$ ($sim 10^{16}$ GeV) of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) gauge couplings is briefly discussed.
The quartic gauge boson couplings in the ${SU(3)}_C otimes {SU(3)}_L otimes {U(1)}_N$ models are presented. We find that the couplings of four {it differrent} gauge bosons may have unusual Lorentz structure and the couplings sastify the tree unitarity requirement at high energy limit.
