The associated production of a $W$ boson with a jet originating from either a light parton or heavy-flavor quark is studied in the forward region using proton-proton collisions. The analysis uses data corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1.0 and $2.0,{rm fb}^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, respectively. The $W$ bosons are reconstructed using the $Wtomu u$ decay and muons with a transverse momentum, $p_{rm T}$, larger than 20 GeV in the pseudorapidity range $2.0<eta<4.5$. The partons are reconstructed as jets with $p_{rm T} > 20$ GeV and $2.2 < eta < 4.2$. The sum of the muon and jet momenta must satisfy $p_{rm T} > 20$ GeV. The fraction of $W+$jet events that originate from beauty and charm quarks is measured, along with the charge asymmetries of the $W!+!b$ and $W!+!c$ production cross-sections. The ratio of the $W+$jet to $Z+$jet production cross-sections is also measured using the $Ztomumu$ decay. All results are in agreement with Standard Model predictions.

We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson production in association with a $W$ boson in proton-antiproton collisions ($pbar{p}rightarrow W^pm H rightarrow ell u bbar{b}$) at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The search employs data collected with the CDF II detector which correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 2.7 fb$^{-1}$. We recorded this data with two kinds of triggers. The first kind required high-p$_T$ charged leptons and the second required both missing transverse energy and jets. The search selects events consistent with a signature of a single lepton ($e^pm/mu^pm$), missing transverse energy, and two jets. Jets corresponding to bottom quarks are identified with a secondary vertex tagging method and a jet probability tagging method. Kinematic information is fed in an artificial neural network to improve discrimination between signal and background. The search finds that both the observed number of events and the neural network output distributions are consistent with the standard model background expectations, and sets 95% confidence level upper limits on the production cross section times branching ratio. The limits are expressed as a ratio to the standard model production rate. The limits range from 3.6 (4.3 expected) to 61.1 (43.2 expected) for Higgs masses from 100 to 150 GeV/$c^{2}$, respectively.

Selected new results from the H1 and ZEUS collaborations on $ep$ interactions at 300 - 318 GeV centre-of-mass energy are presented. The full pre-upgrade integrated luminosity of HERA of 110 pb$^{-1}$ is used. Charm cross sections are measured up to high values of $x_B$ and $Q^2$ and are found to be well described by NLO QCD in the 3 flavour scheme. Orbitally excited $D$ mesons are observed; radial excitations are searched for, but are not seen. The first $b$ cross section measurement is confirmed with a lifetime based method, establishing the excess over NLO QCD.
The production of beauty and charm quarks in ep interactions has been studied with the ZEUS detector at HERA for exchanged four-momentum squared 5 < Q^2 < 1000 GeV^2 using an integrated luminosity of 354 pb^{-1}. The beauty and charm content in events with at least one jet have been extracted using the invariant mass of charged tracks associated with secondary vertices and the decay-length significance of these vertices. Differential cross sections as a function of Q^2, Bjorken x, jet transverse energy and pseudorapidity were measured and compared with next-to-leading-order QCD calculations. The beauty and charm contributions to the proton structure functions were extracted from the double-differential cross section as a function of x and Q^2. The running beauty-quark mass, m_b at the scale m_b, was determined from a QCD fit at next-to-leading order to HERA data for the first time and found to be 4.07 pm 0.14 (fit} ^{+0.01}_{-0.07} (mod.) ^{+0.05}_{-0.00} (param.) ^{+0.08}_{-0.05} (theo) GeV.
The production of $W$ and $Z$ bosons in association with jets is studied in the forward region of proton-proton collisions collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.98 $pm$ 0.02 fb$^{-1}$. The $W$ boson is identified using its decay to a muon and a neutrino, while the $Z$ boson is identified through its decay to a muon pair. Total cross-sections are measured and combined into charge ratios, asymmetries, and ratios of $W+$jet and $Z$+jet production cross-sections. Differential measurements are also performed as a function of both boson and jet kinematic variables. All results are in agreement with Standard Model predictions.
First observations of the decays $Lambda_b^0 to Lambda_c^+ D_{(s)}^-$ are reported using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3,{rm fb}^{-1}$ collected at 7 and 8 TeV center-of-mass energy in proton-proton collisions with the LHCb detector. In addition, the most precise measurement of the branching fraction ${mathcal{B}(B_s^0 to D^+D_s^-)}$ is made and a search is performed for the decays $B^0_{(s)} to Lambda_c^+ Lambda_c^-$. The results obtained are begin{eqnarray*} mathcal{B}(Lambda_b^0 to Lambda_c^+ D^-)/mathcal{B}(Lambda_b^0 to Lambda_c^+ D_{s}^-) &=& 0.042 pm 0.003({rm stat}) pm 0.003({rm syst}), left[frac{mathcal{B}(Lambda_b^0 to Lambda_c^+ D_{s}^-)}{mathcal{B}({kern 0.2em}overline{kern -0.2em B}_d^0 to D^+D_s^-)}right]big/left[frac{mathcal{B}(Lambda_b^0 to Lambda_c^+pi^-)}{mathcal{B}({kern 0.2em}overline{kern -0.2em B}_d^0 to D^+pi^-)}right] &=& 0.96 pm 0.02({rm stat}) pm 0.06({rm syst}), mathcal{B}(B_s^0 to D^+D_s^-)/mathcal{B}({kern 0.2em}overline{kern -0.2em B}_d^0 to D^+D_s^-) &=& 0.038pm0.004({rm stat})pm0.003({rm syst}), mathcal{B}({kern 0.2em}overline{kern -0.2em B}^0 to Lambda_c^+ Lambda_c^-)/mathcal{B}({kern 0.2em}overline{kern -0.2em B}_d^0 to D^+D_s^-) & < & 0.0022; [95% ; {rm C.L.}], mathcal{B}(B^0_{s} to Lambda_c^+ Lambda_c^-)/mathcal{B}(B_s^0 to D^+D_s^-) & < & 0.30; [95% ; {rm C.L.}]. end{eqnarray*} Measurement of the mass of the $Lambda_b^0$ baryon relative to the $B^0$ meson gives ${M(Lambda_b^0) -M(B^0) = 339.72pm 0.24({rm stat}) pm 0.18({rm syst})}$ MeV$/c^2$. This result provides the most precise measurement of the mass of the $Lambda_b^0$ baryon to date.
