Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) has been proposed to enhance the Spectrum Efficiency (SE) and cell-edge capacity. This paper considers the massive Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) with Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) encoding. The close-form expression of capacity of the massive MIMO with NOMA is given here. Apart from the previous Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) method, the Power Hard Limiter (PHD) is introduced here for better reality implement.

In this paper, the performance of multiple-input multiple-output non-orthogonal multiple access (MIMO-NOMA) is investigated when multiple users are grouped into a cluster. The superiority of MIMO-NOMA over MIMO orthogonal multiple access (MIMO-OMA) in terms of both sum channel capacity and ergodic sum capacity is proved analytically. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the more users are admitted to a cluster, the lower is the achieved sum rate, which illustrates the tradeoff between the sum rate and maximum number of admitted users. On this basis, a user admission scheme is proposed, which is optimal in terms of both sum rate and number of admitted users when the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio thresholds of the users are equal. When these thresholds are different, the proposed scheme still achieves good performance in balancing both criteria. Moreover, under certain conditions,it maximizes the number of admitted users. In addition, the complexity of the proposed scheme is linear to the number of users per cluster. Simulation results verify the superiority of MIMO-NOMA over MIMO-OMA in terms of both sum rate and user fairness, as well as the effectiveness of the proposed user admission scheme.
Millimeter-wave (mm-wave) is a promising technique to enhance the network capacity and coverage of next-generation (5G) based on utilizing a great number of available spectrum resources in mobile communication. Improving the 5G network requires enhancing and employing mm-wave beamforming channel propagation characteristics. To achieve high data rates, system performance remains a challenge given the impact of propagation channels in mm-wave that is insufficient in both path loss, delay spread, and penetration loss. Additional challenges arise due to high cost and energy consumption, which require combining both analog and digital beamforming (hybrid beamforming) to reduce the number of radio frequency (RF) chains. In this paper, the distributed powers in the small cell to suppress path loss by specifying a considerable power and controlling the distributed power to reduce the high cost and energy consumption was proposed. The hybrid beamforming in mm-wave exploits a large bandwidth which reduces the large path loss in Rayleigh fading channel. Also, the trade-off between the energy consumption of RF chains and cost efficiency depends on reducing the number of RF chains and the distributed number of users. This paper finds that hybrid beamforming for massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems constitute a promising platform for advancing and capitalizing on 5G networks
The fifth generation of cellular communication systems is foreseen to enable a multitude of new applications and use cases with very different requirements. A new 5G multiservice air interface needs to enhance broadband performance as well as provide new levels of reliability, latency and supported number of users. In this paper we focus on the massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC) service within a multi-service air interface. Specifically, we present an overview of different physical and medium access techniques to address the problem of a massive number of access attempts in mMTC and discuss the protocol performance of these solutions in a common evaluation framework.
A massive multiple input multiple-output system is very important to optimize the trade-off energy efficiency and spectral efficiency in fifth-generation cellular networks. The challenges for the next generation depend on increasing the high data traffic in the wireless communication system for both EE and SE. In this paper, the trade off energy efficiency and spectral efficiency based on the first derivative of transmit antennas and transmit power in a downlink massive MIMO system has been investigated. The trade off EE-SE by using a multiobjective optimization problem to decrease transmit power has been analyzed. The EE and SE based on constraint maximum transmit power allocation and a number of antennas by computing the first derivative of transmit power to maximize the trade-off energy efficiency and spectral efficiency has been improved. From the simulation results, the optimum trade-off between EE and SE can be obtained based on the first derivative by selecting the optimal antennas with a low cost of transmit power. Therefore, based on an optimal optimization problem is flexible to make trade-offs between EE-SE for distinct preferences
In this paper, we investigate the impact of channel aging on the performance of cell-free (CF) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with pilot contamination. To take into account the channel aging effect due to user mobility, we first compute a channel estimate. We use it to derive novel closed-form expressions for the uplink spectral efficiency (SE) of CF massive MIMO systems with large-scale fading decoding and matched-filter receiver cooperation. The performance of a small-cell system is derived for comparison. It is found that CF massive MIMO systems achieve higher 95%-likely uplink SE in both low- and high-mobility conditions, and CF massive MIMO is more robust to channel aging. Fractional power control (FPC) is considered to compensate to limit the inter-user interference. The results show that, compared with full power transmission, the benefits of FPC are gradually weakened as the channel aging grows stronger.
