The existence of the well-known Jacquet-Langlands correspondence was established by Jacquet and Langlands via the trace formula method in 1970. An explicit construction of such a correspondence was obtained by Shimizu via theta series in 1972. In this paper, we extend the automorphic descent method of Ginzburg-Rallis-Soudry to a new setting. As a consequence, we recover the classical Jacquet-Langlands correspondence for PGL(2) via a new explicit construction.
We study the Picard-Lefschetz formula for the Siegel modular threefold of paramodular level and prove the weight-monodromy conjecture for its middle degree inner cohomology with arbitrary automorphic coefficients. We give some applications to the Langlands programme: Using Rapoport-Zink uniformisation of the supersingular locus of the special fiber, we construct a geometric Jacquet-Langlands correspondence between $operatorname{GSp}_4$ and a definite inner form, proving a conjecture of Ibukiyama. We also prove an integral version of the weight-monodromy conjecture and use it to deduce a level lowering result for cohomological cuspidal automorphic representations of $operatorname{GSp}_4$.
In this paper we present an algorithm for computing Hecke eigensystems of Hilbert-Siegel cusp forms over real quadratic fields of narrow class number one. We give some illustrative examples using the quadratic field $Q(sqrt{5})$. In those examples, w
e identify Hilbert-Siegel eigenforms that are possible lifts from Hilbert eigenforms.
In this brief essay a construction of the $2$-variable L-function of Langlands is sketched in terms of monomial resolutions of admissible representations of reductive locally $p$-adic Lie groups.
We construct a Langlands parameterization of supercuspidal representations of $G_2$ over a $p$-adic field. More precisely, for any finite extension $K / QQ_p$ we will construct a bijection [ CL_g : CA^0_g(G_2,K) rightarrow CG^0(G_2,K) ] from the set of generic supercuspidal representations of $G_2(K)$ to the set of irreducible continuous homomorphisms $rho : W_K to G_2(CC)$ with $W_K$ the Weil group of $K$. The construction of the map is simply a matter of assembling arguments that are already in the literature, together with a previously unpublished theorem of G. Savin on exceptional theta correspondences, included as an appendix. The proof that the map is a bijection is arithmetic in nature, and specifically uses automorphy lifting theorems. These can be applied thanks to a recent result of Hundley and Liu on automorphic descent from $GL(7)$ to $G_2$.
We establish the local Langlands conjecture for small rank general spin groups $GSpin_4$ and $GSpin_6$ as well as their inner forms. We construct appropriate $L$-packets and prove that these $L$-packets satisfy the properties expected of them to the extent that the corresponding local factors are available. We are also able to determine the exact sizes of the $L$-packets in many cases.
