Consider the $n$-th integrator $dot x=J_nx+sigma(u)e_n$, where $xinmathbb{R}^n$, $uin mathbb{R}$, $J_n$ is the $n$-th Jordan block and $e_n=(0 cdots 0 1)^Tinmathbb{R}^n$. We provide easily implementable state feedback laws $u=k(x)$ which not only render the closed-loop system globally asymptotically stable but also are finite-gain $L_p$-stabilizing with arbitrarily small gain. These $L_p$-stabilizing state feedbacks are built from homogeneous feedbacks appearing in finite-time stabilization of linear systems. We also provide additional $L_infty$-stabilization results for the case of both internal and external disturbances of the $n$-th integrator, namely for the perturbed system $dot x=J_nx+e_nsigma (k(x)+d)+D$ where $dinmathbb{R}$ and $Dinmathbb{R}^n$.

In this paper, we present a Lyapunov-based homogeneous controller for the stabilization of a perturbed chain of integrators of arbitrary order $rgeq 1$. The proposed controller is based on homogeneous controller for stabilization of pure integrator chains. The advantages to control the homogeneity degree of the controller are also discussed. A bounded-controller with minimum amplitude of discontinuous control and a controller with fixed-time convergence are synthesized, using control of homogeneity degree, and their performances are shown in simulations. It is demonstrated that the homogeneous arbitrary HOSM controller cite{Levant2001} is a particular case of our controller.
This paper studies global regulated state synchronization of homogeneous networks of non-introspective agents in presence of input saturation. We identify three classes of agent models which are neutrally stable, double-integrator, and mixed of double-integrator, single-integrator and neutrally stable dynamics. A textit{scale-free linear observer-based} protocol design methodology is developed based on localized information exchange among neighbors where the reference trajectory is given by a so-called exosystem which is assumed to be globally reachable. Our protocols do not need any knowledge about the communication network topology and the spectrum of associated Laplacian matrix. Moreover, the proposed protocol is scalable and is designed based on only knowledge of agent models and achieves synchronization for any communication graph with arbitrary number of agents.
In this paper, we present Lyapunov-based adaptive controllers for the practical (or real) stabilization of a perturbed chain of integrators with bounded uncertainties. We refer to such controllers as Adaptive Higher Order Sliding Mode (AHOSM) controllers since they are designed for nonlinear SISO systems with bounded uncertainties such that the uncertainty bounds are unknown. Our main result states that, given any neighborhood N of the origin, we determine a controller insuring, for every uncertainty bounds, that every trajectory of the corresponding closed loop system enters N and eventually remains there. The effectiveness of these controllers is illustrated through simulations.

Input design is an important issue for classical system identification methods but has not been investigated for the kernel-based regularization method (KRM) until very recently. In this paper, we consider in the time domain the input design problem of KRMs for LTI system identification. Different from the recent result, we adopt a Bayesian perspective and in particular make use of scalar measures (e.g., the $A$-optimality, $D$-optimality, and $E$-optimality) of the Bayesian mean square error matrix as the design criteria subject to power-constraint on the input. Instead to solve the optimization problem directly, we propose a two-step procedure. In the first step, by making suitable assumptions on the unknown input, we construct a quadratic map (transformation) of the input such that the transformed input design problems are convex, the number of optimization variables is independent of the number of input data, and their global minima can be found efficiently by applying well-developed convex optimization software packages. In the second step, we derive the expression of the optimal input based on the global minima found in the first step by solving the inverse image of the quadratic map. In addition, we derive analytic results for some special types of fixed kernels, which provide insights on the input design and also its dependence on the kernel structure.
This paper studies the problem of decentralized measurement feedback stabilization of nonlinear interconnected systems. As a natural extension of the recent development on control vector Lyapunov functions, the notion of output control vector Lyapunov function (OCVLF) is introduced for investigating decentralized measurement feedback stabilization problems. Sufficient conditions on (local) stabilizability are discussed which are based on the proposed notion of OCVLF. It is shown that a decentralized controller for a nonlinear interconnected system can be constructed using these conditions under an additional vector dissipation-like condition. To illustrate the proposed method, two examples are given.
