The purpose of this paper is to study the problem of generalizing the Belavkin-Kalman filter to the case where the classical measurement signal is replaced by a fully quantum non-commutative output signal. We formulate a least mean squares estimation problem that involves a non-commutative system as the filter processing the non-commutative output signal. We solve this estimation problem within the framework of non-commutative probability. Also, we find the necessary and sufficient conditions which make these non-commutative estimators physically realizable. These conditions are restrictive in practice.

We continue the study of the free energy of quantum lattice spin systems where to the local Hamiltonian $H$ an arbitrary mean field term is added, a polynomial function of the arithmetic mean of some local observables $X$ and $Y$ that do not necessarily commute. By slightly extending a recent paper by Hiai, Mosonyi, Ohno and Petz [9], we prove in general that the free energy is given by a variational principle over the range of the operators $X$ and $Y$. As in [9], the result is a noncommutative extension of the Laplace-Varadhan asymptotic formula.
We derive mean-field equations for a general class of ferromagnetic spin systems with an explicit error bound in finite volumes. The proof is based on a link between the mean-field equation and the free convolution formalism of random matrix theory, which we exploit in terms of a dynamical method. We present three sample applications of our results to Ka{c} interactions, randomly diluted models, and models with an asymptotically vanishing external field.
In the first part of the paper, we classify linear integrable (multi-dimensionally consistent) quad-equations on bipartite isoradial quad-graphs in $mathbb C$, enjoying natural symmetries and the property that the restriction of their solutions to the black vertices satisfies a Laplace type equation. The classification reduces to solving a functional equation. Under certain restriction, we give a complete solution of the functional equation, which is expressed in terms of elliptic functions. We find two real analytic reductions, corresponding to the cases when the underlying complex torus is of a rectangular type or of a rhombic type. The solution corresponding to the rectangular type was previously found by Boutillier, de Tili`ere and Raschel. Using the multi-dimensional consistency, we construct the discrete exponential function, which serves as a basis of solutions of the quad-equation. In the second part of the paper, we focus on the integrability of discrete linear variational problems. We consider discrete pluri-harmonic functions, corresponding to a discrete 2-form with a quadratic dependence on the fields at black vertices only. In an important particular case, we show that the problem reduces to a two-field generalization of the classical star-triangle map. We prove the integrability of this novel 3D system by showing its multi-dimensional consistency. The Laplacians from the first part come as a special solution of the two-field star-triangle map.

This work is concerned with the minimization of quantum entropies under local constraints of density, current, and energy. The problem arises in the work of Degond and Ringhofer about the derivation of quantum hydrodynamical models from first principles, and is an adaptation to the quantum setting of the moment closure strategy by entropy minimization encountered in kinetic equations. The main mathematical difficulty is the lack of compactness needed to recover the energy constraint. We circumvent this issue by a monotonicity argument involving energy, temperature and entropy, that is inspired by some thermodynamical considerations.
A novel family of exactly solvable quantum systems on curved space is presented. The family is the quantum version of the classical Perlick family, which comprises all maximally superintegrable 3-dimensional Hamiltonian systems with spherical symmetry. The high number of symmetries (both geometrical and dynamical) exhibited by the classical systems has a counterpart in the accidental degeneracy in the spectrum of the quantum systems. This family of quantum problem is completely solved with the techniques of the SUSYQM (supersymmetric quantum mechanics). We also analyze in detail the ordering problem arising in the quantization of the kinetic term of the classical Hamiltonian, stressing the link existing between two physically meaningful quantizations: the geometrical quantization and the position dependent mass quantization.
