We investigate the impact of the latest data on Higgs boson branching ratios on the minimal model with a Universal Extra Dimension (mUED). Combining constraints from vacuum stability requirements with these branching ratio measurements we are able to make realistic predictions for the signal strengths in this model. We use these to find a lower bound of 1.3 TeV on the size parameter $R^{-1}$ of the model at 95% confidence level, which is far more stringent than any other reliable bound obtained till now.

Measurements of the Higgs-boson production cross section at the LHC are an important tool for studying electroweak symmetry breaking at the quantum level, since the main production mechanism gg-->h is loop-suppressed in the Standard Model (SM). Higgs production in extra-dimensional extensions of the SM is sensitive to the Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of the quarks, which can be exchanged as virtual particles in the loop. In the context of the minimal Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with bulk fields and a brane-localized Higgs sector, we derive closed analytical expressions for the gluon-gluon fusion process, finding that the effect of the infinite tower of virtual KK states can be described in terms of a simple function of the fundamental (5D) Yukawa matrices. Given a specific RS model, this will allow one to easily constrain the parameter space, once a Higgs signal has been established. We explain that discrepancies between existing calculations of Higgs production in RS models are related to the non-commutativity of two limits: taking the number of KK states to infinity and removing the regulator on the Higgs-boson profile, which is required in an intermediate step to make the relevant overlap integrals well defined. Even though the one-loop gg-->h amplitude is finite in RS scenarios with a brane-localized Higgs sector, it is important to introduce a consistent ultraviolet regulator in order to obtain the correct result.

We show that the standard model (SM)-like Higgs boson may decay into neutrinos with a sizable decay branching ratio in one well-known two Higgs doublet model, so-called neutrinophilic Higgs model. This could happen if the mass of the lighter extra neutral Higgs boson is smaller than one half of the SM-like Higgs boson mass. The definite prediction of this scenario is that the rate of the SM-like Higgs boson decay into diphoton normalized by the SM value is about 0.9. In the case that a neutrino is Majorana particle, a displaced vertex of right-handed neutrino decay would be additionally observed. This example indicates that a large invisible Higgs boson decay could be irrelevant to dark matter.
We investigate the impact of a $lambda_6 varphi^6$ term included in a chirally invariant lattice Higgs-Yukawa model. Such a term could emerge from BSM physics at some larger energy scale. We map out the phase structure of the Higgs-Yukawa model with positive $lambda_6$ and negative quartic self coupling of the scalar fields. To this end, we evaluate the constraint effective potential in lattice perturbation theory and also determine the magnetization of the model via numerical simulations which allow us to reach also non-perturbative values of the couplings. As a result, we find a complex phase structure with first and second order phase transitions identified through the magnetization. Further we analyze the effect of such a $varphi^6$ term on the lower Higgs boson mass bound to see, whether the standard model lower mass bound can be altered.
In a recent Letter Martinez et al.2011 have argued that the existence of extra three families is still perfectly in accord with the standard model (SM), as long as an additional Higgs doublet is also present. Here we claim that the mentioned accordance can be obtained with less reliance on BSM physics like additional Higgs doublets, but benefiting from Majorana neutrinos is sufficient.

We analyze the semileptonic $Bto K_2^*(1430)l^+l^-$ transition in universal extra dimension model. In particular, we present the sensitivity of related observables such as branching ratio, polarization distribution and forward-backward asymmetry to the compactification factor (1/R) of extra dimension. The obtained results from extra dimension model show overall a considerable deviation from the standard model predictions for small values of the compactification factor. This can be considered as an indication for existence of extra dimensions.
