Recent experimental results on exclusive semi-tauonic B meson decays show sizable deviations from the standard model prediction, while the recent result on pure-tauonic decay reduces the deviation from the prediction. These results suggest an indirect evidence of new physics in which the structure of the relevant weak charged interaction may differ from that of the standard model. We study these tauonic B decays in the context of extensions of the Higgs sector. As a result, we find that two Higgs doublet models without tree-level FCNC are unlikely to explain the present experimental data while those allowing FCNC are consistent with the data.

Using the general factorization approach, we present a detailed investigation for the branching ratios, CP asymmetries and longitudinal polarization fractions in all charmless hadronic $B to VV$ decays (except for the pure annihilation processes) within the most general two-Higgs-doublet model with spontaneous CP violation. It is seen that such a new physics model only has very small contributions to the branching ratios and longitudinal polarization fractions. However, as the model has rich CP-violating sources, it can lead to significant effects on the CP asymmetries, especially on those of penguin-dominated decay modes, which provides good signals for probing new physics beyond the SM in the future B-physics experiments.
We calculate the next-to-leading order (NLO) electroweak (EW) corrections to decay rates of charged Higgs bosons for various decay modes in the four types of two Higgs doublet models (THDMs) with the softly broken discrete Z_2 symmetry. Decay branching ratios of charged Higgs bosons are evaluated including NLO EW corrections, as well as QCD corrections up to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO). We comprehensively study impacts of the NLO EW corrections to the branching ratios in nearly alignment scenarios where the couplings constants of the Higgs boson with the mass of 125 GeV are close to those predicted in the standard model. Furthermore, in the nearly alignment scenario, we discuss whether or not the four types of THDMs can be distinguished via the decays of charged Higgs bosons. We find that characteristic predictions of charged Higgs branching ratios can be obtained for all types of the THDMs, by which each type of the THDMs are separated, and information on the internal parameters of the THDMs can be extracted from the magnitudes of the various decay branching ratios.
We consider the phenomenological implications of charged scalar extensions of the SM Higgs sector in addition to EFT couplings of this new state to SM matter. We perform a detailed investigation of modifications of loop-induced decays of the 125 GeV Higgs boson, which receives corrections from the propagating charged scalars alongside one-loop EFT operator insertions and demonstrate that the interplay of $Hto gammagamma$ and $Hto Zgamma$ decays can be used to clarify the additional states phenomenology in case a discovery is made in the future. In parallel, EFT interactions of the charged Higgs can lead to a decreased sensitivity to the virtual presence of charged Higgs states, which can significantly weaken the constraints that are naively expected from the precisely measured $Hto gammagamma$ branching ratio. Again $Hto Zgamma$ measurements provide complementary sensitivity that can be exploited in the future.

We discuss the classification of symmetries and the corresponding symmetry groups in the two-Higgs-doublet model (THDM). We give an easily useable method how to determine the symmetry class and corresponding symmetry group of a given THDM Higgs potential. One of the symmetry classes corresponds to a Higgs potential with several simultaneous generalised CP symmetries. Extending the CP symmetry of this class to the Yukawa sector in a straightforward way, the so-called maximally-CP-symmetric model (MCPM) is obtained. We study the evolution of the quartic Higgs-potential parameters under a change of renormalisation point. Finally we compute the so called oblique parameters S, T, and U, in the MCPM and we identify large regions of viable parameter space with respect to electroweak precision measurements. We present the corresponding allowed regions for the masses of the physical Higgs bosons. Reasonable ranges for these masses, up to several hundred GeV, are obtained which should make the (extra) Higgs bosons detectable in LHC experiments.
We study Two-Higgs-Doublet Models (2HDM) where Abelian symmetries have been introduced, leading to a drastic reduction in the number of free parameters in the 2HDM. Our analysis is inspired in BGL models, where, as the result of a symmetry of the Lagrangian, there are tree-level scalar mediated Flavour-Changing-Neutral-Currents, with the flavour structure depending only on the CKM matrix. A systematic analysis is done on the various possible schemes, which are classified in different classes, depending on the way the extra symmetries constrain the matrices of couplings defining the flavour structure of the scalar mediated neutral currents. All the resulting flavour textures of the Yukawa couplings are stable under renormalisation since they result from symmetries imposed at the Lagrangian level. We also present a brief phenomenological analysis of the most salient features of each class of symmetry constrained 2HDM.
