The rare top decay t-> c l+l-, which involves flavor violation, is studied as a possible probe of new physics. This decay is analyzed with the simplest Standard Model extensions with additional gauge symmetry formalism. The considered extension is the Left-Right Symmetric Model, including a new neutral gauge boson Z that allows to obtain the decay at tree level through Flavor Changing Neutral Currents (FCNC) couplings. The neutral gauge boson couplings are considered diagonal but family non-universal in order to induce these FCNC. We find the $BR(t-> c l+l-)~10^{-13} for a range 1 TeV < M_{Z} < 3 TeV.

The most general model-independent analysis of the rare $B$ decay, $Bsll$, is presented. There are ten independent local four-Fermi interactions which may contribute to this process. The branching ratio, the forward-backward asymmetry, and the double differential rate are written as functions of the Wilson coefficients of the ten operators. We also study the correlation between the branching ratio and the forward-backward asymmetry by changing each coefficient. This procedure tells us which types of operator contribute to the process, and it will be very useful to pin down new physics systematically, once we have the experimental data with high statistics and the deviation from the Standard Model is found.

Form factors of rare (B -> K_0*(1430) l^+ l^-$ decay) decay are calculated within three-point QCD sum rules, with (K_0* (1430)) being the p-wave scalar meson. The branching ratios are estimated when only short, as well as short and long distance effects, are taken into account. It is obtained that the (B -> K_0*(1430) l^+ l^- (l=e,mu)) decay is measurable at LHC. Measurement of these branching ratios for the semileptonic rare (B -> K_0*(1430) l^+ l^-$ decay) can give valuable information about the nature of scalar meson (K_0* (1430)).

The unexpected absence of unambiguous signals of New Physics at the TeV scale at the Large Hadron Collider puts today flavour physics at the forefront. In particular rare decays of b-hadrons represent a unique probe to challenge the Standard Model paradigm and test models of New Physics at a scale much higher than that accessible by direct searches. This article reviews the status of the field.
We discuss the associated $cbar{c}$ and $l^+l^-$ pairs production in ultraperipheral heavy-ion collisions at high energies. Such a channel provides a novel probe for double-parton scattering (DPS) at small $x$ enabling one to probe the photon density inside the nucleus. We have derived an analog of the standard central $pp$ pocket formula and studied the kinematical dependence of the effective cross section. Taking into account both elastic and non-elastic contributions, we have shown predictions for the DPS $cbar c l^+l^-$ production cross section differential in charm quark rapidity and dilepton invariant mass and rapidity for LHC and a future collider.

We propose a new method of the determination of $R^{D}=sigma_{L}^{D}/sigma_{T}^{D}$ from the dependence of the diffractive cross section on the azimuthal angle between the electron scattering and proton scattering planes. The method is based on our finding of the model independence of the ratio of the $LT$ interference and transverse diffractive structure functions. The predicted azimuthal asymmetry is substantial and can be measured at HERA. We show that the accuracy of our reconstruction of $R^{D}$ is adequate for a reliable test of an important pQCD prediction of $R^{D}gsim 1$ for large $beta$.
