We have studied a quinary Fe-based superconductor Sr$_2$VFeAsO$_3$ by the measurements of x-ray diffraction, x-ray absorption, M{o}ssbauer spectrum, resistivity, magnetization and specific heat. This apparently undoped oxyarsenide is shown to be self doped via electron transfer from the V$^{3+}$ ions. We observed successive magnetic transitions within the VO$_2$ layers: an antiferromagnetic transition at 150 K followed by a weak ferromagnetic transition at 55 K. The spin orderings within the VO$_2$ planes are discussed based on mixed valence of V$^{3+}$ and V$^{4+}$.

Among unconventional superconductors, Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ has become a benchmark for experimentation and theoretical analysis because its normal-state electronic structure is known with exceptional precision, and because of experimental evidence that its superconductivity has, very unusually, a spontaneous angular momentum, i.e. a chiral state. This hypothesis of chirality is however difficult to reconcile with recent evidence on the spin part of the order parameter. Measurements under uniaxial stress offer an ideal way to test for chirality, because under uniaxial stress the superconducting and chiral transitions are predicted to split, allowing the empirical signatures of each to be identified separately. Here, we report zerofield muon spin relaxation (ZF-$mu$SR) measurements on crystals placed under uniaxial stresses of up to 1.05 GPa. We report a clear stress-induced splitting between the onset temperatures of superconductivity and time-reversal symmetry breaking, consistent with qualitative expectations for chiral superconductivity. We also report the appearance of unexpected bulk magnetic order under a uniaxial stress of ~ 1.0 GPa in clean Sr$_2$RuO$_4$.
Both electronic Raman scattering (ERS) and angle-resolved photoemission spectra (ARPES) revealed two energy scales for the gap in different momentum spaces in the cuprates. However, the interpretations were different, and the gap values were also different in two experiments. In order to clarify the origin of these discrepancies, we directly compared ERS and ARPES by calculating ERS from the experimental data of ARPES through the Kubo formula. The calculated ERS spectra were in good agreement with the experimental results except for the B$_{1g}$ peak energies. The doping-dependent B$_{2g}$ peak energy was well reproduced from a doping-independent d-wave gap deduced from ARPES, by assuming a particular spectral weight distribution along the Fermi surface. The B$_{1g}$ peak energies could not be reproduced by the ARPES data. The difference between B$_{1g}$ ERS and antinodal ARPES became larger with underdoping, which implies that the effect of the pseudogap is different in these two techniques.

We report tunneling spectra of near optimally doped Bi$_2$Sr$_2$CaCu$_2$O$_{8+delta}$ intrinsic Josephson junctions with area of 0.09 $mu$m$^2$, which avoid some fundamental difficulties in the previous tunneling experiments and allow a stable temperature-dependent measurement. A d-wave Eliashberg analysis shows that the spectrum at 4.2 K can be well fitted by considering electron couplings to a bosonic magnetic resonance mode and a broad high-energy continuum. Above $T_c$, the spectra show a clear pseudogap that persists up to 230 K, and a crossover can be seen indicating two different pseudogap phases existing above $T_c$. The intrinsic electron tunneling nature is discussed in the analysis.

We report $^{75}$As- and $^{51}$V-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on the iron-based superconductor Sr$_2$VFeAsO$_3$ with alternating stacks structure. We find that the $^{75}$As nuclear spin-spin relaxation rate ($1/T_2$) shows a pronounced peak at $T_N$ = 165 K, below which the resonance peak shifts to a higher frequency due to the onset of an internal magnetic field. The $^{51}$V spectrum does not shift, but is broadened below $T_N$. We conclude that the Fe electrons oder antiferromagnetically below $T_N$ with a magnetic moment $m_{Fe}$ $sim$ 0.4 $mu_B$. Application of external pressure up to 2.4 GPa reduces $T_N$ in a rate of $-$40 K/GPa, and enhances the superconducting transition temperature $T_c$ in a rate of 2 K/GPa. The pressure-temperature phase diagram for Sr$_2$VFeAsO$_3$ shows that superconductivity coexists with antiferromagnetism over a wide pressure range with an unprecedented high $T_c$ up to 36.5 K.

Neutron Scattering measurements for YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{6.6}$ have identified small magnetic moments that increase in strength as the temperature is reduced below $T^ast$ and further increase below $T_c$. An analysis of the data shows the moments are antiferromagnetic between the Cu-O planes with a correlation length of longer than 195 AA in the $a$-$b$ plane and about 35 AA along the c-axis. The origin of the moments is unknown, and their properties are discusssed both in terms of Cu spin magnetism and orbital bond currents.
