We consider a stochastic control problem which is composed of a controlled stochastic differential equation, and whose associated cost functional is defined through a controlled backward stochastic differential equation. Under appropriate convexity assumptions on the coefficients of the forward and the backward equations we prove the existence of an optimal control on a suitable reference stochastic system. The proof is based on an approximation of the stochastic control problem by a sequence of control problems with smooth coefficients, admitting an optimal feedback control. The quadruplet formed by this optimal feedback control and the associated solution of the forward and the backward equations is shown to converge in law, at least along a subsequence. The convexity assumptions on the coefficients then allow to construct from this limit an admissible control process which, on an appropriate reference stochastic system, is optimal for our stochastic control problem.

In this paper we study the optimal stochastic control problem for stochastic differential systems reflected in a domain. The cost functional is a recursive one, which is defined via generalized backward stochastic differential equations developed by Pardoux and Zhang [20]. The value function is shown to be the unique viscosity solution to the associated Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation, which is a fully nonlinear parabolic partial differential equation with a nonlinear Neumann boundary condition. For this, we also prove some new estimates for stochastic differential systems reflected in a domain.

In this paper, the optimal control problem of neutral stochastic functional differential equation (NSFDE) is discussed. A class of so-called neutral backward stochastic functional equations of Volterra type (VNBSFEs) are introduced as the adjoint equation. The existence and uniqueness of VNBSFE is established. The Pontryagin maximum principle is constructed for controlled NSFDE with Lagrange type cost functional.
An optimal control problem with a time-parameter is considered. The functional to be optimized includes the maximum over time-horizon reached by a function of the state variable, and so an $L^infty$-term. In addition to the classical control function, the time at which this maximum is reached is considered as a free parameter. The problem couples the behavior of the state and the control, with this time-parameter. A change of variable is introduced to derive first and second-order optimality conditions. This allows the implementation of a Newton method. Numerical simulations are developed, for selected ordinary differential equations and a partial differential equation, which illustrate the influence of the additional parameter and the original motivation.
In this paper we investigate the optimal control problem for a class of stochastic Cauchy evolution problem with non standard boundary dynamic and control. The model is composed by an infinite dimensional dynamical system coupled with a finite dimensional dynamics, which describes the boundary conditions of the internal system. In other terms, we are concerned with non standard boundary conditions, as the value at the boundary is governed by a different stochastic differential equation.

We construct a probabilistic representation of a system of fully coupled parabolic equations arising as a model describing spatial segregation of interacting population species. We derive a closed system of stochastic equations such that its solution allows to obtain a probabilistic representation of a weak solution of the Cauchy problem for the PDE system. The corresponded stochastic system is presented in the form of a system of stochastic equations describing nonlinear Markov processes and their multiplicative functionals.
