Within the superspace formulation for four-dimensional N = 2 matter-coupled supergravity developed in arXiv:0805.4683, we elaborate two approaches to reduce the superfield action to components. One of them is based on the principle of projective invariance which is a purely N = 2 concept having no analogue in simple supergravity. In this approach, the component reduction of the action is performed without imposing any Wess-Zumino gauge condition, that is by keeping intact all the gauge symmetries of the superfield action, including the super-Weyl invariance. As a simple application, the c-map is derived for the first time from superfield supergravity. Our second approach to component reduction is based on the method of normal coordinates around a submanifold in a curved superspace, which we develop in detail. We derive differential equations which are obeyed by the vielbein and the connection in normal coordinates, and which can be used to reconstruct these objects, in principle in closed form. A separate equation is found for the super-determinant of the vielbein, which allows one to reconstruct it without a detailed knowledge of the vielbein. This approach is applicable to any supergravity theory in any number of space-time dimensions. As a simple application of this construction, we reduce an integral over the curved N = 2 superspace to that over the chiral subspace of the full superspace. We also give a new representation for the curved projective-superspace action principle as a chiral integral.

This paper presents a projective superspace formulation for 4D N = 2 matter-coupled supergravity. We first describe a variant superspace realization for the N = 2 Weyl multiplet. It differs from that proposed by Howe in 1982 by the choice of the structure group (SO(3,1) x SU(2) versus SO(3,1) x U(2)), which implies that the super-Weyl transformations are generated by a covariantly chiral parameter instead of a real unconstrained one. We introduce various off-shell supermultiplets which are curved superspace analogues of the superconformal projective multiplets in global supersymmetry and which describe matter fields coupled to supergravity. A manifestly locally supersymmetric and super-Weyl invariant action principle is given. Off-shell locally supersymmetric nonlinear sigma models are presented in this new superspace.
Based on the known non-linear transformation rules of the Weyl multiplet fields, the action of $N=4$ conformal supergravity is constructed up to terms quadratic in the fermion fields. The bosonic sector corrects a recent result in the literature.
We consider Abelian tensor hierarchy in four-dimensional ${cal N}=1$ supergravity in the conformal superspace formalism, where the so-called covariant approach is used to antisymmetric tensor fields. We introduce $p$-form gauge superfields as superforms in the conformal superspace. We solve the Bianchi identities under the constraints for the superforms. As a result, each of form fields is expressed by a single gauge invariant superfield. The action of superforms is shown with the invariant superfields. We also show the relation between the superspace formalism and the superconformal tensor calculus.
We present off-shell N=2 supergravity actions, which exhibit spontaneously broken local supersymmetry and allow for de Sitter vacua for certain values of the parameters. They are obtained by coupling the standard N=2 supergravity-matter systems to the Goldstino superfields introduced in arXiv:1105.3001 and arXiv:1607.01277 in the rigid supersymmetric case. These N=2 Goldstino superfields include nilpotent chiral and linear supermultiplets. We also describe a new reducible N=1 Goldstino supermultiplet.
We propose a generalization of S-folds to 4d $mathcal{N}=2$ theories. This construction is motivated by the classification of rank one 4d $mathcal{N}=2$ super-conformal field theories (SCFTs), which we reproduce from D3-branes probing a configuration of $mathcal{N}=2$ S-folds combined with 7-branes. The main advantage of this point of view is that realizes both Coulomb and Higgs branch flows and allows for a straight forward generalization to higher rank theories.
