We study the duality cascade of softly broken supersymmetric theories. We investigate the renormalization group (RG) flow of SUSY breaking terms as well as supersymmetric couplings. It is found that the magnitudes of SUSY breaking terms are suppressed in most regimes of the RG flow through the duality cascade. At one stage of cascading, the gaugino mass of the strongly coupled sector and scalar masses converge to certain values, which are determined by the gauge coupling and the gaugino mass of the weakly coupled sector. At the next stage, the strongly and weakly coupled sectors are interchanged with each other. We also show the possibility that cascading would be terminated by the gauge symmetry breaking, which is induced by the so-called B-term.

A solution to the infinite coupling problem for N=2 conformal supersymmetric gauge theories in four dimensions is presented. The infinitely-coupled theories are argued to be interacting superconformal field theories (SCFTs) with weakly gauged flavor groups. Consistency checks of this proposal are found by examining some low-rank examples. As part of these checks, we show how to compute new exact quantities in these SCFTs: the central charges of their flavor current algebras. Also, the isolated rank 1 E_6 and E_7 SCFTs are found as limits of Lagrangian field theories.
There are many physically interesting superconformal gauge theories in four dimensions. In this talk I discuss a common phenomenon in these theories: the existence of continuous families of infrared fixed points. Well-known examples include finite ${cal N}=4$ and ${cal N}=2$ supersymmetric theories; many finite ${cal N}=1$ examples are known also. These theories are a subset of a much larger class, whose existence can easily be established and understood using the algebraic methods explained here. A relation between the ${cal N}=1$ duality of Seiberg and duality in finite ${cal N}=2$ theories is found using this approach, giving further evidence for the former. This talk is based on work with Robert Leigh (hep-th/9503121).
We study the algebra of BPS Wilson loops in 3d gauge theories with N=2 supersymmetry and Chern-Simons terms. We argue that new relations appear on the quantum level, and that in many cases this makes the algebra finite-dimensional. We use our results to propose the mapping of Wilson loops under Seiberg-like dualities and verify that the proposed map agrees with the exact results for expectation values of circular Wilson loops. In some cases we also relate the algebra of Wilson loops to the equivariant quantum K-ring of certain quasi projective varieties. This generalizes the connection between the Verlinde algebra and the quantum cohomology of the Grassmannian found by Witten.

Considered are ${cal N}=2, SU(N_c)$ or $U(N_c)$ SQCD with $N_F<2N_c-1$ quark flavors with the quark mass term $m{rm Tr},({bar Q} Q)$ in the superpotential. ${cal N}=2$ supersymmetry is softly broken down to ${cal N}=1$ by the mass term $mu_{rm x}{rm Tr},(X^2)$ of colored adjoint scalar partners of gluons, $mu_{rm x}llLambda_2$ ($Lambda_2$ is the scale factor of the $SU(N_c)$ gauge coupling). There is a large number of different types of vacua in these theories with both unbroken and spontaneously broken flavor symmetry, $U(N_F)rightarrow U({rm n}_1)times U({rm n}_2)$. We consider in this paper the large subset of these vacua with the unbroken nontrivial $Z_{2N_c-N_Fgeq 2}$ discrete symmetry, at different hierarchies between the Lagrangian parameters $mgtrlessLambda_2,,, mu_{rm x}gtrless m$. The forms of low energy Lagrangians, quantum numbers of light particles and mass spectra are described in the main text for all these vacua. The calculations of power corrections to the leading terms of the low energy quark and dyon condensates are presented in two important Appendices. These calculations confirm additionally in a non-trivial way a self-consistency of the whole approach. Our results differ essentially from corresponding results in recent related papers arXiv:1304.0822, arXiv:1403.6086, and arXiv:1704.06201 of M.Shifman and A.Yung (and in a number of their numerous previous papers on this subject), and we explain in the text the reasons for these differences (see also the extended critique of a number of results of these authors in section 8 of arXiv:1308.5863).
It has been conjectured that duality cascade occurs in the $mathcal{N}=3$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills Chern-Simons theory with the gauge group $U(N )_k times U(N+M )_{-k}$ coupled to two bi-fundamental hypermultiplets. The brane picture suggests that this duality cascade can be generalized to a class of 3d $mathcal{N}=3$ supersymmetric quiver gauge theories coming from so-called Hanany-Witten type brane configurations. In this paper we perform non-perturbative tests of the duality cascades using supersymmetry localization. We focus on $S^3$ partition functions and prove predictions from the duality cascades. We also discuss that our result can be applied to generate new dualities for more general theories which include less supersymmetric theories and theories without brane constructions.
