Fix a manifold M, and let V be an infinite dimensional Lie algebra of vector fields on M. Assume that V contains a finite dimensional semisimple maximal subalgebra A, the projective or conformal subalgebra. A projective or conformal quantization of a V-module of differential operators on M is a decomposition into irreducible A-modules. We survey recent results on projective quantizations and their applications to cohomology, geometric equivalences and symmetries of differential operator modules, and indecomposable modules.

The Lie algebra of vector fields on $R^m$ acts naturally on the spaces of differential operators between tensor field modules. Its projective subalgebra is isomorphic to $sl_{m+1}$, and its affine subalgebra is a maximal parabolic subalgebra of the projective subalgebra with Levi factor $gl_m$. We prove two results. First, we realize all injective objects of the parabolic category O$^{gl_m}(sl_{m+1})$ of $gl_m$-finite $sl_{m+1}$-modules as submodules of differential operator modules. Second, we study projective quantizations of differential operator modules, i.e., $sl_{m+1}$-invariant splittings of their order filtrations. In the case of modules of differential operators from a tensor density module to an arbitrary tensor field module, we determine when there exists a unique projective quantization, when there exists no projective quantization, and when there exist multiple projective quantizations.
Every conic symplectic singularity admits a universal Poisson deformation and a universal filtered quantization, thanks to the work of Losev and Namikawa. We begin this paper by showing that every such variety admits a universal equivariant Poisson deformation and universal equivariant quantization with respect to any group acting on it by $mathbb{C}^times$-equivariant Poisson automorphisms. We go on to study these definitions in the context of nilpotent Slodowy slices. First we give a complete description of the cases in which the finite $W$-algebra is the universal filtered quantization of the slice, building on the work of Lehn--Namikawa--Sorger. This leads to a near-complete classification of the filtered quantizations of nilpotent Slodowy slices. The subregular slices in non-simply-laced Lie algebras are especially interesting: with some minor restrictions on Dynkin type we prove that the finite $W$-algebra is the universal equivariant quantization with respect to the Dynkin automorphisms coming from the unfolding of the Dynkin diagram. This can be seen as a non-commutative analogue of Slodowys theorem. Finally we apply this result to give a presentation of the subregular finite $W$-algebra in type B as a quotient of a shifted Yangian.
We consider an analog of the problem Veblen formulated in 1928 at the IMC: classify invariant differential operators between natural objects (spaces of either tensor fields, or jets, in modern terms) over a real manifold of any dimension. For unary operators, the problem was solved by Rudakov (no nonscalar operators except the exterior differential); for binary ones, by Grozman (there are no operators of orders higher than 3, operators of order 2 and 3 are, bar an exception in dimension 1, compositions of order 1 operators which, up to dualization and permutation of arguments, form 8 families). In dimension one, Grozman discovered an indecomposable selfdual operator of order 3 that does not exist in higher dimensions. We solve Veblens problem in the 1-dimensional case over the ground field of positive characteristic. In addition to analogs of the Berezin integral (strangely overlooked so far) and binary operators constructed from them, we discovered two more (up to dualization) types of indecomposable operators of however high order: analogs of the Grozman operator and a completely new type of operators.
The concept of $lambda$-differential operators is a natural generalization of differential operators and difference operators. In this paper, we determine the $lambda$-differential Lie algebraic structure on the Witt algebra and the Virasoro algebra for invertible $lambda$. Then we consider several families of modules over the Virasoro algebra with explicit module actions and determine the $lambda$-differential module structures on them.
The Capelli problem for the symmetric pairs $(mathfrak{gl}times mathfrak{gl},mathfrak{gl})$ $(mathfrak{gl},mathfrak{o})$, and $(mathfrak{gl},mathfrak{sp})$ is closely related to the theory of Jack polynomials and shifted Jack polynomials for special values of the parameter. In this paper, we extend this connection to the Lie superalgebra setting, namely to the supersymmetric pairs $(mathfrak{g},mathfrak{g}):=(mathfrak{gl}(m|2n),mathfrak{osp}(m|2n))$ and $(mathfrak{gl}(m|n)timesmathfrak{gl}(m|n),mathfrak{gl}(m|n))$, acting on $W:=S^2(mathbb C^{m|2n})$ and $mathbb C^{m|n}otimes(mathbb C^{m|n})^*$. We also give an affirmative answer to the abstract Capelli problem for these cases.
