Prospects to search for a new massless neutral gauge boson, the paraphoton, in e+ e- collisions at center-of-mass energies of 0.5 and 1 TeV are studied. The paraphoton naturally appears in models with abelian kinetic mixing. A possible realistic model independent lowest order effective Lagrangian contains magnetic interactions of the paraphoton with the Standard Model fermion fields. These interactions are proportional to the fermion mass and grow with energy, with however very weak paraphoton couplings to ordinary matter. At the ILC, a potentially interesting process to search for the paraphoton is its radiation off top quarks, so that the event topology to be searched for is a pair of acoplanar top quark jets with missing energy. By combining many discriminating features of signal and background events efficient paraphoton event selection was achieved allowing to set limits for the top-paraphoton coupling. Arguments in favor of the missing energy as the paraphoton with spin 1 are discussed.

We present a search at Jefferson Laboratory for new forces mediated by sub-GeV vector bosons with weak coupling $alpha$ to electrons. Such a particle $A$ can be produced in electron-nucleus fixed-target scattering and then decay to an $e^+e^-$ pair, producing a narrow resonance in the QED trident spectrum. Using APEX test run data, we searched in the mass range 175--250 MeV, found no evidence for an $Ato e^+e^-$ reaction, and set an upper limit of $alpha/alpha simeq 10^{-6}$. Our findings demonstrate that fixed-target searches can explore a new, wide, and important range of masses and couplings for sub-GeV forces.

In these proceedings I explore one aspect of gauge-boson physics at the LHC - Triple Gauge-boson Couplings (TGCs) in $WZ$ and Wgamma production. Methods for extracting confidence limits on anomalous TGCs are assessed, while accounting for the effects of higher order QCD corrections and contributions from other theoretical and detector related systematics. Detector response has been parametrised according to the ATLAS detectors specifications. A strategy for reporting the anomalous coupling limits is introduced which removes the ambiguities of form factors by reporting the limits as a function of a cutoff operating on the diboson system invariant mass. Techniques for measuring the energy dependence of anomalous couplings are demonstrated.

The existence of dark matter has been established in astrophysics. However, there are no dark matter candidates in the Standard Model~(SM). If the dark matter particles or their mediator can not interact with SM fermions or gauge bosons, the Higgs boson is the only portal to the dark matter. We present a simulation study to search for invisible decays of the Higgs boson at the ILC with the ILD detector.
We study the prospects of measuring the decay of the Higgs boson into a pair of muons at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The study is performed at center-of-mass energies of 250,GeV and 500,GeV, with fully-simulated Monte-Carlo samples based on the International Large Detector (ILD). The expected precision on cross section times branching ratio $sigma times mathrm{BR}(h to mu ^+ mu ^-)$ has been evaluated to be 24.9{%} for an integrated luminosity of 2,ab$^{-1}$ at 250,GeV. This result improves to 17.5{%} in combination with 4,ab$^{-1}$ of 500,GeV data. We also quantify the impact of the transverse momentum resolution on this analysis, and found that it is very important reach the design goal of an asymptotic resolution of $sigma_{1/P_t} = 2 times 10^{-5}$,GeV$^{-1}$.
We explore the physics of a new neutral gauge boson, ($Z^prime$), coupling to only third-generation particles with a mass near the electroweak gauge boson mass poles. A $Z^prime$ boson produced by top quarks and decaying to tau leptons is considered. With a simple search strategy inspired by existing analyses of the standard model gauge boson production in association with top quarks, we show that the Large Hadron Collider has good exclusionary power over the model parameter space of the $Z^prime$ boson even at the advent of the high-luminosity era. It is shown that the $tbar{t}Z^prime$ process allows one to place limits on right-handed top couplings with a $Z^prime$ boson that preferentially couples to third generation fermions, which are at present very weakly constrained.
