Twisted torus links are given by twisting a subset of strands on a closed braid representative of a torus link. T--links are a natural generalization, given by repeated positive twisting. We establish a one-to-one correspondence between positive braid representatives of Lorenz links and T--links, so Lorenz links and T--links coincide. Using this correspondence, we identify over half of the simplest hyperbolic knots as Lorenz knots. We show that both hyperbolic volume and the Mahler measure of Jones polynomials are bounded for infinite collections of hyperbolic Lorenz links. The correspondence provides unexpected symmetries for both Lorenz links and T-links, and establishes many new results for T-links, including new braid index formulas.

We present two practical and widely applicable methods, including some criteria and a general procedure, for detecting Brunnian property of a link, if each component is known to be unknot. The methods are based on observation and handwork. They are used successfully for all Brunnian links known so far. Typical examples and extensive experiments illustrate their efficiency. As an application, infinite families of Brunnian links are created, and we establish a general way to construct new ones in bulk

We discuss when homogeneous quasipositive links are positive. In particular, we show that a homogeneous diagram of a quasipositive link whose number of Seifert circles is equal to the braid index is a positive diagram.
Let $n$ be a positive integer. The aim of this paper is to study two local moves $V(n)$ and $V^{n}$ on welded links, which are generalizations of the crossing virtualization. We show that the $V(n)$-move is an unknotting operation on welded knots for any $n$, and give a classification of welded links up to $V(n)$-moves. On the other hand, we give a necessary condition for which two welded links are equivalent up to $V^{n}$-moves. This leads to show that the $V^{n}$-move is not an unknotting operation on welded knots except for $n=1$. We also discuss relations among $V^{n}$-moves, associated core groups and the multiplexing of crossings.
We construct infinitely many families of Lorenz knots that are satellites but not cables, giving counterexamples to a conjecture attributed to Morton. We amend the conjecture to state that Lorenz knots that are satellite have companion a Lorenz knot, and pattern equivalent to a Lorenz knot. We show this amended conjecture holds very broadly: it is true for all Lorenz knots obtained by high Dehn filling on a parent link, and other examples.

For a positive braid link, a link represented as a closed positive braids, we determine the first few coefficients of its HOMFLY polynomial in terms of geometric invariants such as, the maximum euler characteristics, the number of split factors, and the number of prime factors. Our results give improvements of known results for Conway and Jones polynomial of positive braid links. In Appendix, we present a simpler proof of theorem of Cromwell, a positive braid diagram represent composite link if and only if the the diagram is composite.
