We provide an intrinsic definition of the fundamental group of a linear category over a ring as the automorphism group of the fibre functor on Galois coverings. If the universal covering exists, we prove that this group is isomorphic to the Galois group of the universal covering. The grading deduced from a Galois covering enables us to describe the canonical monomorphism from its automorphism group to the first Hochschild-Mitchell cohomology vector space.

In this paper, we construct a kind of new braided monoidal category over two Hom-Hopf algerbas $(H,alpha)$ and $(B,beta)$ and associate it with two nonlinear equations. We first introduce the notion of an $(H,B)$-Hom-Long dimodule and show that the Hom-Long dimodule category $^{B}_{H} Bbb L$ is an autonomous category. Second, we prove that the category $^{B}_{H} Bbb L$ is a braided monoidal category if $(H,alpha)$ is quasitriangular and $(B,beta)$ is coquasitriangular and get a solution of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation. Also, we show that the category $^{B}_{H} Bbb L$ can be viewed as a subcategory of the Hom-Yetter-Drinfeld category $^{Ho B}_{Ho B} Bbb {HYD}$. Finally, we obtain a solution of the Hom-Long equation from the Hom-Long dimodules.
Starting with a k-linear or DG category admitting a (homotopy) Serre functor, we construct a k-linear or DG 2-category categorifying the Heisenberg algebra of the numerical K-group of the original category. We also define a 2-categorical analogue of the Fock space representation of the Heisenberg algebra. Our construction generalises and unifies various categorical Heisenberg algebra actions appearing in the literature. In particular, we give a full categorical enhancement of the action on derived categories of symmetric quotient stacks introduced by Krug, which itself categorifies a Heisenberg algebra action proposed by Grojnowski.
Let k be a field. We attach a CW-complex to any Schurian k-category and we prove that the fundamental group of this CW-complex is isomorphic to the intrinsic fundamental group of the k-category. This extends previous results by J.C. Bustamante. We also prove that the Hurewicz morphism from the vector space of abelian characters of the fundamental group to the first Hochschild-Mitchell cohomology vector space of the category is an isomorphism.
In this paper we introduce the Schutzenberger category $mathbb D(S)$ of a semigroup $S$. It stands in relation to the Karoubi envelope (or Cauchy completion) of $S$ in the same way that Schutzenberger groups do to maximal subgroups and that the local divisors of Diekert do to the local monoids $eSe$ of $S$ with $ein E(S)$. In particular, the objects of $mathbb D(S)$ are the elements of $S$, two objects of $mathbb D(S)$ are isomorphic if and only if the corresponding semigroup elements are $mathscr D$-equivalent, the endomorphism monoid at $s$ is the local divisor in the sense of Diekert and the automorphism group at $s$ is the Schutzenberger group of the $mathscr H$-class of $S$. This makes transparent many well-known properties of Greens relations. The paper also establishes a number of technical results about the Karoubi envelope and Schutzenberger category that were used by the authors in a companion paper on syntactic invariants of flow equivalence of symbolic dynamical systems.

We study the general properties of commutative differential graded algebras in the category of representations over a reductive algebraic group with an injective central cocharacter. Besides describing the derived category of differential graded modules over such an algebra, we also provide a criterion for the existence of a t-structure on the derived category together with a characterization of the coordinate ring of the Tannakian fundamental group of its heart.
