The optical bistability have been studied theoretically in a multi-mode optomechanical system with two mechanical oscillators independently coupled to two cavities in addition to direct tunnel coupling between cavities. It is proved that the bistable behavior of mean intracavity photon number in the right cavity can be tuned by adjusting the strength of the pump laser beam driving the left cavity. And the mean intracavity photon number is relatively larger in the red sideband regime than that in the blue sideband regime. Moreover, we have shown that the double optical bistability of intracavity photon in the right cavity and the two steady-state positions of mechanical resonators can be observed when the control field power is increased to a critical value. Besides, the critical values for observing bistability and double bistability can be tuned by adjusting the coupling coefficient between two cavities and the coupling rates between cavities mode and mechanical mode.

Quantum blockade and entanglement play important roles in quantum information and quantum communication as quantum blockade is an effective mechanism to generate single photons (phonons) and entanglement is a crucial resource for quantum information processing. In this work, we propose a method to generate single entangled photon-phonon pairs in a hybrid optomechanical system. We show that photon blockade, phonon blockade, and photon-phonon correlation and entanglement can be observed via the atom-photon-phonon (tripartite) interaction, under the resonant atomic driving. The correlated and entangled single photons and single phonons, i.e., single entangled photon-phonon pairs, can be generated in both the weak and strong tripartite interaction regimes. Our results may have important applications in the development of highly complex quantum networks.
It is well-known that some nonlinear phenomena such as strong photon blockade are hard to be observed in optomechanical system with current experimental technology. Here, we present a coherent feedback control strategy in which a linear cavity is coh erently controlled by an optomechanical controller in a feedback manner. The coherent feedback loop transfers and enhances quantum nonlinearity from the controller to the controlled cavity, which makes it possible to observe strong nonlinear effects in either linear cavity or optomechanical cavity. More interestingly, we find that the strong photon blockade under single-photon optomechanical weak coupling condition could be observed in the quantum regime. Additionally, the coherent feedback loop leads to two-photon and multiphoton tunnelings for the controlled linear cavity, which are also typical quantum nonlinear phenomenon. We hope that our work can give new perspectives in engineering nonlinear quantum phenomena.
Realization of strong optomechanical coupling in the single-photon level is crucial to study quantum nonlinear effects and manipulate macroscopic object. Here, we propose an alternative method to towards this goal in a hybrid ensemble-optomechanical system. The sizable membrane-ensemble (ME) coupling mediated by the auxiliary mode of the cavity gives rise to polaritons with lower and higher frequencies. By tuning the ME coupling ($lambda_{rm en}$) approaching the critical coupling value ($lambda_c$), the eigen-energy of the low-frequency polariton gives rise to critical behavior (i.e., quantum phase transition) when the ensemble is within or beyond the low-excitation approximations. Using this critical behavior, the single-photon optomechanical coupling between the cavity and the low-frequency polariton can be greatly enhanced by almost three orders of magnitude with feasible parameters, while the coupling between the high-frequency polariton and the cavity is fully decouped. Our proposal provides a novel way to investigating Kerr effect and blockade in single-photon optomechanical systems.
Photon blockade is an effective way to generate single photon, which is of great significance in quantum state preparation and quantum information processing. Here we investigate the statistical properties of photons in a double-cavity optomechanical system with nonreciprocal coupling, and explore the photon blockade in the weak and strong coupling regions respectively. To achieve the strong photon blockade, we give the optimal parameter relations under different blockade mechanisms. Moreover, we find that the photon blockades under their respective mechanisms exhibit completely different behaviors with the change of nonreciprocal coupling, and the perfect photon blockade can be achieved without an excessively large optomechanical coupling, i.e., the optomechanical coupling is much smaller than the mechanical frequency, which breaks the traditional cognition. Our proposal provides a feasible and flexible platform for the realization of single-photon source.

We study the nonreciprocal transmission of a single-photon in a cavity optomechanical system, in which the cavity supports a clockwise and a counter-clockwise circulating optical modes, the mechanical resonator (MR) is excited by a weak coherent driv ing, and the signal photon is made up of a sequence of pulses with exactly one photon per pulse. We find that, if the input state is a single-photon state, it is insufficient to study the nonreciprocity only from the perspective of the transmission spectrums, since the frequencies where the nonreciprocity happens are far away from the peak frequency of the single-photon. So we show the nonreciprocal transmission behavior by comparing the spectrums of the input and output fields. In our system, we can achieve a transformation of the signal transmission from unidirectional isolation to unidirectional amplification in the single-photon level by changing the amplitude of the weak coherent driving. The effects of the mechanical thermal noise on the single-photon nonreciprocal transmission are also discussed.
