Using the colored quark cluster model, we study magnetic moments of the octet baryons. We give the values of the magnetic moments of baryons $p$, $n$, $Sigma^+$, $Sigma^-$, $Xi^0$, and $Xi^-$. The results also show that the orbital motion has very significant effects on the spin and magnetic moments of those baryons and the strange component in the proton is very small.

We report on a calculation of higher electromagnetic multipole moments of baryons in a non-covariant quark model approach. The employed method is based on the underlying spin-flavor symmetry of the strong interaction and its breaking. We present resul ts on magnetic octupole moments of decuplet baryons and discuss their implications.

The reactions $Sigma_b^* to Lambda_b pi$, $Sigma_b to Lambda_b pi$, and $Xi_b^* to Xi_b pi$ are studied in the $^3P_0$ non-relativistic quark model with all the model parameters fixed in the sector of light quarks. The theoretical predictions for the decay widths $Gamma_{Sigma_b^* to Lambda_b pi}$ and $Gamma_{Sigma_b to Lambda_b pi}$ are consistent with the experimental data of the CDF Collaboration. Using as an input the recent mass of $Xi_b$ and the theoretical predictions mass of $Xi_b^{*}$, a narrow decay width about 1 MeV is predicted for the bottom baryon $Xi_b^*$. The work suggests that the $^3P_0$ quark dynamics is of independence of environments where heavy quarks may or may not be a component of baryons.

We compute magnetic moments of baryons with a heavy quark in the bound state approach for heavy baryons. In this approach the heavy baryon is considered as a heavy meson bound to a light baryon. The latter is represented as a soliton excitation of li ght meson fields. We obtain the magnetic moments by sandwiching pertinent components of the electromagnetic current operator between the bound state wave--functions. We extract this current operator from the coupling to the photon field after extending the action to be gauge invariant.
Exclusive semileptonic decays of bottom and charm baryons are considered within a relativistic three-quark model with a Gaussian shape for the baryon-three-quark vertex and standard quark propagators. We calculate the baryonic Isgur-Wise functions, decay rates and asymmetry parameters.

We calculate the magnetic moments of heavy baryons with a single heavy quark in the bound-state approach. In this approach the heavy baryons is considered as a heavy meson bound in the field of a light baryon. The light baryon field is represented as a soliton excitation of the light pseudoscalar and vector meson fields. For these calculations we adopt a model that is both chirally invariant and consistent with the heavy quark spin symmetry. We gauge the model action with respect to photon field in order to extract the electromagnetic current operator and obtain the magnetic moments by computing pertinent matrix elements of this operator between the bound state wavefunctions. We compare our predictions for the magnetic moments with results of alternative approaches for the description of heavy baryon properties.
