We have investigated the electromagnetic decays of the antitriplet and sextet charmed baryon systems with $J^P= frac{1}{2}^+, frac{3}{2}^+$ in the framework of the heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory. We first construct the chiral Lagrangians at $O(p^2)$ and $O(p^3)$. Then we calculate the electromagnetic (EM) decay amplitudes of the charmed baryon systems up to $O(p^3)$. With the help of the quark model, we estimate the low energy constants. The numerical results of the EM decay widths show good convergence of the chiral expansion. We notice that the two neutral EM decay processes $Xi_c^0rightarrowgamma+Xi_c^0$ and ${Xi_c^*}^0rightarrowgamma+Xi_c^0$ are strongly suppressed by the SU(3) U-spin flavor symmetry. With the same formalism, we also estimate the EM decay widths of the bottomed baryons. The EM decay widths of the heavy baryons may be measured at facilities such as LHCb and JPARC. The explicit chiral structures of the heavy baryon decay amplitudes derived in this work may be useful to the possible chiral extrapolations of the future lattice simulations of these EM decay amplitudes.

We have systematically investigated the magnetic moments and magnetic form factors of the decuplet baryons to the next-to-next-leading order in the framework of the heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory. Our calculation includes the contributions f rom both the intermediate decuplet and octet baryon states in the loops. We also calculate the charge and magnetic dipole form factors of the decuplet baryons. Our results may be useful to the chiral extrapolation of the lattice simulations of the decuplet electromagnetic properties.
There has been important experimental progress in the sector of heavy baryons in the past several years. We study the strong decays of the S-wave, P-wave, D-wave and radially excited charmed baryons using the $^3P_0$ model. After comparing the calcul ated decay pattern and total width with the available data, we discuss the possible internal structure and quantum numbers of those charmed baryons observed recently.
The chiral corrections to the magnetic moments of the spin-$frac{1}{2}$ doubly charmed baryons are systematically investigated up to next-to-next-to-leading order with heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory (HBChPT). The numerical results are calcul ated up to next-to-leading order: $mu_{Xi^{++}_{cc}}=-0.25mu_{N}$, $mu_{Xi^{+}_{cc}}=0.85mu_{N}$, $mu_{Omega^{+}_{cc}}=0.78mu_{N}$. We also calculate the magnetic moments of the other doubly heavy baryons, including the doubly bottomed baryons (bbq) and the doubly heavy baryons containing a light quark, a charm quark and a bottom quark (${bc}q$ and $[bc]q$): $mu_{Xi^{0}_{bb}}=-0.84mu_{N}$, $mu_{Xi^{-}_{bb}}=0.26mu_{N}$, $mu_{Omega^{-}_{bb}}=0.19mu_{N}$, $mu_{Xi^{+}_{{bc}q}}=-0.54mu_{N}$, $mu_{Xi^{0}_{{bc}q}}=0.56mu_{N}$, $mu_{Omega^{0}_{{bc}q}}=0.49mu_{N}$, $mu_{Xi^{+}_{[bc]q}}=0.69mu_{N}$, $mu_{Xi^{0}_{[bc]q}}=-0.59mu_{N}$, $mu_{Omega^{0}_{[bc]q}}=0.24mu_{N}$.
Inspired by the discovery of the spin-$frac{1}{2}$ doubly charmed baryon $Xi_{cc}^{++}$ and the subsequent theoretical studies of its magnetic moments, we study the magnetic moments of its spin-$frac{3}{2}$ heavy quark spin symmetry counterparts, up to the next-to-leading order in covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory (BChPT) with the extended-on-mass-shell renormalization (EOMS) scheme. With the tree-level contributions fixed by the quark model while the two low energy constants (LECs) $C$ and $H$ controlling the loop contributions determined in two ways: the quark model (case 1) and lattice QCD simulations together with the quark model (case 2), we study the quark mass dependence of the magnetic moments and compare them with the predictions of the heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory (HB ChPT). It is shown that the difference is sizable in case 1, but not in case 2 due to the smaller LECs $C$ and $H$, similar to the case of spin-$frac{1}{2}$ doubly charmed baryons. Second, we predict the magnetic moments of the spin-$frac{3}{2}$ doubly charmed baryons and compare them with those of other approaches. The predicted magnetic moments in case 2 for the spin-$frac{3}{2}$ doubly charmed baryons are closer to those of other approaches. In addition, the large differences in case 1 and case 2 for the predicted magnetic moments may indicate the inconsistency between the quark model and the lattice QCD simulations, which should be checked by future experimental or more lattice QCD data.
Employing the systematic framework of soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) we perform an improved calculation of the leading-power contributions to the double radiative $B_{d, , s}$-meson decay amplitudes in the heavy quark expansion. We then const ruct the QCD factorization formulae for the subleading power contributions arising from the energetic photon radiation off the constituent light-flavour quark of the bottom meson at tree level. Furthermore, we explore the factorization properties of the subleading power correction from the effective SCET current $J^{(A2)}$ at ${cal O} (alpha_s^0)$. The higher-twist contributions to the $B_{d, , s} to gamma gamma $ helicity form factors from the two-particle and three-particle bottom-meson distribution amplitudes are evaluated up to the twist-six accuracy. In addition, the subleading power weak-annihilation contributions from both the current-current and QCD penguin operators are taken into account at the one-loop accuracy. We proceed to apply the operator-production-expansion-controlled dispersion relation for estimating the power-suppressed soft contributions to the double radiative $B_{d, , s}$-meson decay form factors. Phenomenological explorations of the radiative $B_{d, , s} to gamma , gamma$ decay observables in the presence of the neutral-meson mixing, including the CP-averaged branching fractions, the polarization fractions and the time-dependent CP asymmetries, are carried out subsequently with an emphasis on the numerical impacts of the newly computed ingredients together with the theory uncertainties from the shape parameters of the HQET bottom-meson distribution amplitudes.
