Delta Cir is known as an O7.5 III eclipsing and spectroscopic binary with an eccentric orbit. Penny et al. discovered the presence of a third component in the IUE spectra. The eclipsing binary and the third body revolve around a common centre of gravity with a period of 1644 days in an eccentric orbit with the semimajor axis of 10 AU. We demonstrate the presence of the apsidal-line rotation with a period of about 141 years, which is considerably longer than its theoretically predicted value, based on the published radii of the binary components derived from the Hipparchos Hp light curve. However, our new solution of the same light curve resulted in smaller radii and a better agreement between the observed and predicted period of the apsidal- line advance. There are indications that the third body is a binary. The object was resolved by VLTI with the PIONIER combiner; in June 2012 the separation was 3.78 mas, magnitude difference in the H region 1.75 mag. This result means that (assuming the distance 770 pc) the inclination of the long orbit is 87.7 degrees.

Observations for the $delta$ Scuti star AN Lyn have been made between 2008 and 2016 with the 85-cm telescope at Xinglong station of National Astronomical Observatories of China, the 84-cm telescope at SPM Observatory of Mexico and the Nanshan One met er Wide field Telescope of Xinjiang Observatory of China. Data in $V$ in 50 nights and in $R$ in 34 nights are obtained in total. The bi-site observations from both Xinglong Station and SPM Observatory in 2014 are analyzed with Fourier Decomposition to detect pulsation frequencies. Two independent frequencies are resolved, including one non-radial mode. A number of stellar model tracks are constructed with the MESA code and the fit of frequencies leads to the best-fit model with the stellar mass of $M = 1.70 pm 0.05~mathrm{M_{odot}}$ , the metallicity abundance of $Z = 0.020 pm 0.001$, the age of $1.33 pm 0.01$ billion years and the period change rate $1/Pcdot mathrm{d}P/mathrm{d}t =1.06 times 10^{-9} ~mathrm{yr^{-1}} $, locating the star at the evolutionary stage close to the terminal age main sequence (TAMS). The O-C diagram provides the period change rate of $1/P cdot mathrm{d}P /mathrm{d}t =4.5(8)times10^{-7}~mathrm{yr^{-1}}$. However, the period change rate calculated from the models is smaller in two orders than the one derived from the O-C diagram. Together with the sinusoidal function signature, the period variations are regarded to be dominated by the light-travel time effect of the orbital motion of a three-body system with two low-luminosity components, rather than the stellar evolutionary effect.

In anticipation of the possible collision between a circumstellar disk and the secondary star in the highly eccentric binary system Delta Scorpii, high angular resolution interferometric observations have been acquired aimed at revising the binary pa rameters. The Navy Prototype Optical Interferometer (NPOI) was used to spatially resolve the binary components in 2000 and over a period between 2005 and 2010. The interferometric observations are used to obtain the angular separations and orientations of the two stellar components at all epochs for which data has been obtained, including 2005 and 2006, for which based on previous studies there was some uncertainty as to if the signature of binarity can be clearly detected. The results of this study represent the most complete and accurate coverage of the binary orbit of this system to date and allow for the revised timing of the upcoming periastron passage that will occur in 2011 to be obtained.
Chemically peculiar (CP) stars with a measurable magnetic field comprise the group of mCP stars. The pulsating members define the subgroup of rapidly oscillating Ap (roAp) stars, of which Alpha Circini is the brightest member. Hence, Alpha Circini al lows the application of challenging techniques, such as interferometry, very high temporal and spectral resolution photometry, and spectroscopy in a wide wavelength range, that have the potential to provide unique information about the structure and evolution of a star. Based on new photometry from BRITE-Constellation, obtained with blue and red filters, and on photometry from WIRE, SMEI, and TESS we attempt to determine the surface spot structure of Alpha Circini and investigate pulsation frequencies. We used photometric surface imaging and frequency analyses and Bayesian techniques in order to quantitatively compare the probability of different models. BRITE-Constellation photometry obtained from 2014 to 2016 is put in the context of space photometry obtained by WIRE, SMEI, and TESS. This provides improvements in the determination of the rotation period and surface features (three spots detected and a fourth one indicated). The main pulsation frequencies indicate two consecutive radial modes and one intermediate dipolar mode. Advantages and problems of the applied Bayesian technique are discussed.
BS Cir is a representative of moderately cool magnetic chemically peculiar stars which displays very strong light variations in Stroemgren index c1 indicating large changes in the height of the Balmer jump. We present two-spot model of light variatio ns fitting successfully all of nine light curves obtained in the spectral region 335-750 nm. We also discuss the nature of the observed variations of intensities of Fe, Cr, Ti, Si, Mg and RE spectral lines and possible mechanisms matching the observed light variations. It was confirmed that the observed period of BS Cir 2.204 d is rising with the rate of dP/dt=5.4(4)x10^-9. The found minor secular changes in the shape of light curve should be compatible with the period changes caused by precessional motion due to magnetic distortion of the star.
We report the discovery of an L dwarf companion to the A3V star beta{} Circini. VVV J151721.49-585131.5, or beta{} Cir B, was identified in a proper motion and parallax catalogue of the Vista Variables in the V{i}a L{a}ctea survey as having near infr ared luminosity and colour indicative of an early L dwarf, and a proper motion and parallax consistent with that of beta{} Cir. The projected separation of $sim$3.6 corresponds to $6656$ au, which is unusually wide. The most recent published estimate of the age of the primary combined with our own estimate based on newer isochrones yields an age of $370-500$ Myr. The system therefore serves as a useful benchmark at an age greater than that of the Pleiades brown dwarfs and most other young L dwarf benchmarks. We have obtained a medium resolution echelle spectrum of the companion which indicates a spectral type of L1.0$pm$0.5 and lacks the typical signatures of low surface gravity seen in younger brown dwarfs. This suggests that signs of low surface gravity disappear from the spectra of early L dwarfs by an age of $sim370-500$ Myr, as expected from theoretical isochrones. The mass of beta{} Cir B is estimated from the BHAC15 isochrones as $0.056pm0.007$ M$_{odot}$.
