A crown-ether dithiol quaterthiophene is synthesized for its covalent immobilization by double fixation on gold surface. While the corresponding dithioester precursor exhibits Pb2+ complexation properties in solution as evidenced by UV-vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry, this Pb2+ affinity is still maintained for monolayers of the dithiol on gold. In addition, current-voltage measurements by Eutectic GaIn drop contact on the monolayer show a significant increase (up to 1.6 x 1E3) of the current at low bias after Pb2+ complexation.
We investigate strategies for increasing the thermopower of crown-ether-bridged anthraquinones. The novel design feature of these molecules is the presence of either (1) crown-ether or (2) diaza-crown-ether bridges attached to the side of the current
Structural and electronic properties of oligothiophene nano-wires and rings synthesized on a Au(111) surface are investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy. The spectroscopic data of the linear and cyclic oligomers show remarkable differences whic
We show that skyrmions on the surface of a magnetic topological insulator may experience an attractive interaction that leads to the formation of a skyrmion-skyrmion bound state. This is in contrast to the case of skyrmions in a conventional chiral f
Single molecular electrets exhibiting single molecule electric polarization switching have been long desired as a platform for extremely small non-volatile storage devices, although it is controversial because of the poor stability of single molecula
In this paper, we report our study on gold (Au) films with different thicknesses deposited on single layer graphene (SLG) as surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates for the characterization of rhodamine (R6G) molecules. We find that an Au
