We systematically measured the DC voltage V_ISH induced by spin pumping together with the inverse spin Hall effect in ferromagnet/platinum bilayer films. In all our samples, comprising ferromagnetic 3d transition metals, Heusler compounds, ferrite spinel oxides, and magnetic semiconductors, V_ISH invariably has the same polarity. V_ISH furthermore scales with the magnetization precession cone angle with a universal prefactor, irrespective of the magnetic properties, the charge carrier transport mechanism or type. These findings quantitatively corroborate the present theoretical understanding of spin pumping in combination with the inverse spin Hall effect.

Pure spin current based research is mostly focused on ferromagnet (FM)/heavy metal (HM) system. Because of the high spin orbit coupling (SOC) these HMs exhibit short spin diffusion length and therefore possess challenges for device application. Low S OC (elements of light weight) and large spin diffusion length make the organic semiconductors (OSCs) suitable for future spintronic applications. From theoretical model it is explained that, due to $pi$ - $sigma$ hybridization the curvature of the C$_{60}$ molecules may increase the SOC strength. Here, we have investigated spin pumping and inverse spin hall effect (ISHE) in CoFeB/C$_{60}$ bilayer system using coplanar wave guide based ferromagnetic resonance (CPW-FMR) set-up. We have performed angle dependent ISHE measurement to disentangle the spin rectification effects for example anisotropic magnetoresistance, anomalous Hall effect etc. Further, effective spin mixing conductance (g$_{eff}^{uparrowdownarrow}$) and spin Hall angle ($theta_{SH}$) for C$_{60}$ have been reported here. The evaluated value for $theta_{SH}$ is 0.055.
Spin pumping by ferromagnetic resonance is one of the most common technique to determine spin hall angles, Edelstein lengths or spin diffusion lengths of a large variety of materials. In recent years, rising concerns have appeared regarding the inter pretation of these experiments, underlining that the signal could arise purely from thermoelectric effects, rather than from coherent spin pumping. Here, we propose a method to evaluate the presence or absence of thermal effects in spin pumping signals, by combining bolometry and spin pumping by ferromagnetic resonance measurements, and comparing their timescale. Using a cavity to perform the experiments on PtPermalloy and La0.7Sr0.3MnO3Pt samples, we conclude on the absence of any measurable thermoelectric contribution such as the spin Seebeck and anomalous Nernst effects at resonance
We investigate the effect of an electrical current on the attenuation length of a 900 nm wavelength spin-wave in a permalloy/Pt bilayer using propagating spin-wave spectroscopy. The modification of the spin-wave relaxation rate is linear in current d ensity, reaching up to 14% for a current density of 2.3$times10^{11} $A/m$^2$ in Pt. This change is attributed to the spin transfer torque induced by the spin Hall effect and corresponds to an effective spin Hall angle of 0.13, which is among the highest values reported so far. The spin Hall effect thus appears as an efficient way of amplifying/attenuating propagating spin waves.

While the electrical current manipulation of antiferromagnets (AFMs) has been demonstrated, the extent of the studied AFM materials has been limited with few systematic experiments and a poor understanding. We compare the electrical current switching of the exchange-bias field ($H_{ex}$) in AFM-Mn$_3A$N/ferromagnet-Co$_3$FeN bilayers. An applied pulse current can manipulate $H_{ex}$ with respect to the current density and FM layer magnetization, which shifts exponentially as a function of the current density. We found that the saturation current density and exponential decay constant $tau$ increase with the local moment of AFM Mn atoms. Our results highlight the effect of the AFM local moment to electrical current switching of $H_{ex}$, although it has a near-zero net magnetization, and may provide a facile way to explore the electrical current manipulation of AFM materials.
The electronic and optoelectronic properties of two dimensional materials have been extensively explored in graphene and layered transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). Spintronics in these two-dimensional materials could provide novel opportunities for future electronics, for example, efficient generation of spin current, which should enable the efficient manipulation of magnetic elements. So far, the quantitative determination of charge current induced spin current and spin-orbit torques (SOTs) on the magnetic layer adjacent to two-dimensional materials is still lacking. Here, we report a large SOT generated by current-induced spin accumulation through the Rashba-Edelstein effect in the composites of monolayer TMD (MoS$_2$ or WSe$_2$)/CoFeB bilayer. The effective spin conductivity corresponding to the SOT turns out to be almost temperature-independent. Our results suggest that the charge-spin conversion in the chemical vapor deposition-grown large-scale monolayer TMDs could potentially lead to high energy efficiency for magnetization reversal and convenient device integration for future spintronics based on two-dimensional materials.
