This is an old paper put here for archeological purposes. We compute the second cohomology of current Lie algebras of the form $Lotimes A$, where $L$ belongs to some class of Lie algebras which includes classical simple and Zassenhaus algebras, and of some modular semisimple Lie algebras. The results are largely superseded by subsequent papers, though, perhaps, some tricks and observations used here remain of minor interest.

In this paper we describe central extensions of some nilpotent Leibniz algebras. Namely, central extensions of the Leibniz algebra with maximal index of nilpotency are classified. Moreover, non-split central extensions of naturally graded filiform no n-Lie Leibniz algebras are described up to isomorphism. It is shown that $k$-dimensional central extensions ($kgeq 5$) of these algebras are split.
We describe all central extensions of all $3$-dimensional non-zero complex Zinbiel algebras. As a corollary, we have a full classification of $4$-dimensional non-trivial complex Zinbiel algebras and a full classification of $5$-dimensional non-trivia l complex Zinbiel algebras with $2$-dimensional annihilator, which gives the principal step in the algebraic classification of $5$-dimensional Zinbiel algebras.
In this paper we study the theory of cleft extensions for a weak bialgebra H. Among other results, we determine when two unitary crossed products of an algebra A by H are equivalent and we prove that if H is a weak Hopf algebra, then the categories o f H-cleft extensions of an algebra A, and of unitary crossed products of A by H, are equivalent.
We develop a theory of parafree augmented algebras similar to the theory of parafree groups and explore some questions related to the Parafree Conjecture. We provide an example of finitely generated parafree augmented algebra of infinite cohomologica l dimension. Motivated by this example, we prove a version of the Composition-Diamond lemma for complete augmented algebras and provide a sufficient condition for augmented algebra to be residually nilpotent on the language of its relations.

In this article, we study Dorroh extensions of algebras and Dorroh extensions of coalgebras. Their structures are described. Some properties of these extensions are presented. We also introduce the finite duals of algebras and modules which are not n ecessarily unital. Using these finite duals, we determine the dual relations between the two kinds of extensions.
