We describe the formalism, and present the results, for a triple-Regge analysis of the available pp and pbar{p} high-energy data which explicitly accounts for absorptive corrections. In particular, we allow for the gap survival probability, S^2, in single proton diffractive dissociation. Since for pp scattering the value of S^2 is rather small, the triple-Pomeron vertex obtained in this analysis is larger than that obtained in the old analyses where the suppression caused by the absorptive corrections was implicitly included in an effective vertex. We show that the bare triple-Pomeron coupling that we extract from the pp and pbar{p} data is consistent with that obtained in a description of the gamma p -> J/psi + Y HERA data. The analyses of the data prefer a zero slope, corresponding to the small size of the bare vertex, giving the hope of a smooth matching to the perturbative QCD treatment of the triple-Pomeron coupling.

We evaluate the large momentum transfer $J/psi$ photoproduction with rapidity gaps in ultraperipheral proton-ion collisions at the LHC which provides an effective method of probing dynamics of large t elastic hard QCD Pomeron interactions. It is show n that the experimental studies of this process would allow to investigate the energy dependence of cross section of elastic scattering of a small $cbar c$ dipole off the gluon over a wide range of invariant energies 10^3 < s_{cbar c - gluon} < 10^6 GeV^2. The accessible energy range exceeds the one reached in gamma p at HERA by a factor of 10 and allows the kinematic cuts which improve greatly sensitivity to the Pomeron dynamics as compared to the HERA measurements. The cross section is expected to change by a factor ge 20 throughout this interval and our estimates predict quite reasonable counting rates for this process with the several of the LHC detectors.
We give detailed predictions for diffractive SUSY Higgs boson and top squark associated productions at the LHC via the exclusive double pomeron exchange mechanism. We study how the SUSY Higgs cross section and the signal over background ratio are enh anced as a function of tangent beta in different regimes. The prospects are particularly promising in the ``anti-decoupling regime, which we study in detail. We also give the prospects for a precise measurement of the top squark mass using the threshold scan of central diffractive associated top squark events at the LHC.

A rapidity gap trigger for the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider LHC is presented and a few selected physics observables are discussed. First, some properties of double pomeron events are outlined. Second, signatures of the odderon in diffr active J/Psi production is discussed. Third, possible evidence of gluon saturation in the cross section of diffractive heavy quark photoproduction is investigated.

Using the Good and Walker picture, we derive a simple formula for diffractive dissociation that can apply to recent data collected at HERA in the low Q2 regime.

Diffractive events at hadron colliders are typically characterised by a region of the detector without particles, known as a rapidity gap. In order to observe diffractive events in this way, we consider the pseudorapidity acceptance in the forward re gion of the ATLAS and CMS detectors at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and discuss the methods to select soft diffractive dissociation for pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. We showed that in the limited detector rapidity acceptance, it is possible to select diffractive dissociated events by requiring a rapidity gap in the event, however, it is not possible to distinguish single diffractive dissociated events from double diffractive dissociated events with a low diffractive mass.
