We study the phase diagram of a generalized chiral SU(3)-flavor model in mean-field approximation. In particular, the influence of the baryon resonances, and their couplings to the scalar and vector fields, on the characteristics of the chiral phase transition as a function of temperature and baryon-chemical potential is investigated. Present and future finite-density lattice calculations might constrain the couplings of the fields to the baryons. The results are compared to recent lattice QCD calculations and it is shown that it is non-trivial to obtain, simultaneously, stable cold nuclear matter.
In the context of holographic QCD we analyze Sakai-Sugimotos chiral model at finite baryon density and zero temperature. The baryon number density is introduced through compact D4 wrapping S^4 at the tip of D8-bar{D8}. Each baryon acts as a chiral po
We consider the (3+1) dimensional expansion and cooling of the chirally-restored and deconfined matter at finite net-baryon densities as expected in heavy-ion collisions at moderate energies. In our approach, we consider chiral fields and the Polyako
We present some results about the interplay between the chiral and deconfinement phase transitions in parity-conserving QED3 (with N flavours of massless 4 component fermions) at finite temperature. Following Grignani et al (Phys. Rev. D53, 7157 (199
The importance of studying matter at high $rho$ increases as more astrophysical data becomes available from recently launched spacecrafts. The importance of high T studies derives from heavy ion data. In this paper we set up a formalism to study the
We investigate the chiral phase transition at finite temperature (T) in colour SU(Nc=3) Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) with six species of fermions (Nf=6) in the fundamental representation by using lattice QCD with improved staggered fermions. By consi
