We investigated magnetic variability of the roAp star gamma Equ (HD 201601) with high time resolution. Measurements of the stellar longitudinal magnetic field B_e were performed with the hydrogen line polarimeter and the 6-m optical telescope of Special Astrophysical Observatory on 20/21 August 1989. We obtained a single 3-hour series of 1720 rapid B_e measurements for this star with the average time resolution of 6.6 sec. The averaged value of <B_e> on this night equals -750 pm 22 G. Both the power spectrum and the amplitude spectrum of the B_e time series essentially are flat. However, they show the presence of a marginally significant magnetic period at P_B = 3.596 min. which is real with the probability 67 %. The amplitude of the magnetic field variations with this period equals 347 pm 31 G. We did not detect variations of B_e field in gamma Equ with the well-known photometric period, P_phot=12.44 min.

We determined rotational period of practically nonrotating Ap star gamma Equ and claim $P_{rm rot}= 97$ years. This period is about 35000 times larger than the average rotational period among stars of the same spectral class. Paper discusses possible mechanism explaining the origin of this phenomenon.
In this paper we study periodic variability of the magnetic field in the Ap star 33 Lib. We found that its most probable period equals 83.5 years. There exist also possible shorter periods: 11.036 days, 7.649 days and 4.690 days. Analysis of the magn etic behavior of 33 Lib allows us to conclude, that the star shows the second longest period the slow rotator gamma Equ, the latter star with the period of 97 years.

Densely time sampled multi-frequency flux measurements of the extreme BL Lac object S5 0716+714 over the past three years allow us to study its broad-band variability, and the detailed underlying physics, with emphasis on the location and size of the emitting regions and the evolution with time. We study the characteristics of some prominent mm-/gamma-ray flares in the context of the shock-in-jet model and investigate the location of the high energy emission region. The rapid rise and decay of the radio flares is in agreement with the formation of a shock and its evolution, if a geometrical variation is included in addition to intrinsic variations of the source. We find evidence for a correlation between flux variations at gamma-ray and radio frequencies. A two month time-delay between gamma-ray and radio flares indicates a non-cospatial origin of gamma-rays and radio flux variations in S5 0716+714.

We present UVES/VLT observations of the nearby flare star CN Leo covering the Wing-Ford FeH band near 1mu with high spectral resolution. Some of the FeH absorption lines in this band are magnetically sensitive and allow a measurement of the mean magn etic flux on CN Leo. Our observations, covering three nights separated by 48 hours each, allow a clear detection of a mean magnetic field of Bf~2.2kG. The differential flux measurements show a night-to-night variability with extremely high significance. Finally, our data strongly suggest magnetic flux variability on time scales as low as 6 hours in line with chromospheric variability.

We report on a bright flare in the Crab Nebula detected by the Large Area Telescope (LAT) on board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope. The period of significantly increased luminosity occurred in 2013 March and lasted for approximately 2 weeks. Duri ng this period, we observed flux variability on timescales of approximately 5,hours. The combined photon flux above 100 MeV from the pulsar and its nebula reached a peak value of $(12.5pm 0.8)cdot 10^{-6}$,cm$^{-2}$,s$^{-1}$ on 2013 March 6. This value exceeds the average flux by almost a factor of 6 and implies a $sim20$ times higher flux for the synchrotron component of the nebula alone. This is the second brightest flare observed from this source. Spectral and temporal analysis of the LAT data collected during the outburst reveal a rapidly varying synchrotron component of the Crab Nebula while the pulsar emission remains constant in time.
