We show that the first law for the rotating Taub-NUT is straightforwardly established with the surface charge method. The entropy is explicitly found as a charge, and its value is not proportional to the horizon area. We conclude that there are unavoidable contributions from the Misner strings to the charges, still, the mass and angular momentum gets standard values. However, there are no independent charges associated with the Misner strings.

Writing the metric of an asymptotically flat spacetime in Bondi coordinates provides an elegant way of formulating the Einstein equation as a characteristic value problem. In this setting, we find that a specific class of asymptotically flat spacetim es, including stationary solutions, contains a Maxwell gauge field as free data. Choosing this gauge field to correspond to the Dirac monopole, we derive the Taub-NUT solution in Bondi coordinates.
Using the extended forms of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle from string theory and the quantum gravity theory, we drived Hawking temperature of a Taub-Nut-(A)dS black hole. In spite of their distinctive natures such as asymptotically locally fla t and breakdown of the area theorem of the horizon for the black holes, we show that the corrections to Hawking temperature by the generaliz
We present a menagerie of solutions to the vacuum Einstein equations in six, eight and ten dimensions. These solutions describe spacetimes which are either locally asymptotically adS or locally asymptotically flat, and which have non-trivial topology . We discuss the global structure of these solutions, and their relevance within the context of M-theory.
We obtain the Misner-Sharp mass in the massive gravity for a four dimensional spacetime with a two dimensional maximally symmetric subspace via the inverse unified first law method. Significantly, the stress energy is conserved in this case with a wi dely used reference metric. Based on this property we confirm the derived Misner-Sharp mass by the conserved charge method. We find that the existence of the Misner-sharp mass in this case does not lead to extra constraint for the massive gravity, which is notable in modified gravities. In addition, as a special case, we also investigate the Misner-Sharp mass in the static spacetime. Especially, we take the FRW universe into account for investigating the thermodynamics of the massive gravity. The result shows that the massive gravity can be in thermodynamic equilibrium, which fills in the gap in the previous studies of thermodynamics in the massive gravity.

In this note we consider the gauge field equation of motion for the dimensional reduction of the (2,0) tensor multiplet on singular circle fibrations. The fibrations are characterized by the corresponding U(1) action having a codimension four fixed p oint locus W. Along W, the dimensional reduction of the (2,0) receives a modification described by a WZW model. We consider the emergence of the additional degrees of freedom through the topological term in the action, which in addition to the gauge field strength involves the U(1) connection of the space-time fibration. We also consider the Taub-NUT space as a simple example of a singular fibration, and in particular consider spherically symmetric solutions for the field strength.
