This paper is concerned with the globally exponential stability of traveling wave fronts for a class of population dynamics model with quiescent stage and delay. First, we establish the comparison principle of solutions for the population dynamics model. Then, by the weighted energy method combining comparison principle, the globally exponential stability of traveling wave fronts of the population dynamics model under the quasi-monotonicity conditions is established.

In this work, we investigate the system of three species ecological model involving one predator-prey subsystem coupling with a generalist predator with negative effect on the prey. Without diffusive terms, all global dynamics of its corresponding re action equations are proved analytically for all classified parameters. With diffusive terms, the transitions of different spatial homogeneous solutions, the traveling wave solutions, are showed by higher dimensional shooting method, the Wazewski method. Some interesting numerical simulations are performed, and biological implications are given.
A two-dimensional system of differential equations with delay modelling the glucose-insulin interaction processes in the human body is considered. Sufficient conditions are derived for the unique positive equilibrium in the system to be globally asym ptotically stable. They are given in terms of the global attractivity of the fixed point in a limiting interval map. The existence of slowly oscillating periodic solutions is shown in the case when the equilibrium is unstable. The mathematical results are supported by extensive numerical simulations. It is shown that typical behaviour in the system is the convergence to either a stable periodic solution or to the unique stable equilibrium. The coexistence of several periodic solutions together with the stable equilibrium is demonstrated as a possibility.

We investigate the long term behavior in terms of global attractors, as time goes to infinity, of solutions to a continuum model for biological aggregations in which individuals experience long-range social attraction and short range dispersal. We co nsider the aggregation equation with both degenerate and non-degenerate diffusion in a bounded domain subject to various boundary conditions. In the degenerate case, we prove the existence of the global attractor and derive some optimal regularity results. Furthermore, in the non-degenerate case we give a complete structural characterization of the global attractor, and also discuss the convergence of any bounded solutions to steady states. Finally, the existence of an exponential attractor is also demonstrated for sufficiently smooth kernels in the case of non-degenerate diffusion.
This paper is concerned with the conditions of existence and nonexistence of traveling wave solutions (TWS) for a class of discrete diffusive epidemic models. We find that the existence of TWS is determined by the so-called basic reproduction number and the critical wave speed: When the basic reproduction number R0 greater than 1, there exists a critical wave speed c* > 0, such that for each c >= c * the system admits a nontrivial TWS and for c < c* there exists no nontrivial TWS for the system. In addition, the boundary asymptotic behaviour of TWS is obtained by constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional and employing Lebesgue dominated convergence theorem. Finally, we apply our results to two discrete diffusive epidemic models to verify the existence and nonexistence of TWS.
We consider a size-structured aggregation and growth model of phytoplankton community proposed by Ackleh and Fitzpatrick [2]. The model accounts for basic biological phenomena in phytoplankton community such as growth, gravitational sedimentation, pr edation by zooplankton, fecundity, and aggregation. Our primary goal in this paper is to investigate the long-term behavior of the proposed aggregation and growth model. Particularly, using the well-known principle of linearized stability and semigroup compactness arguments, we provide sufficient conditions for local exponential asymptotic stability of zero solution as well as sufficient conditions for instability. We express these conditions in the form of an easy to compute characteristic function, which depends on the functional relationship between growth, sedimentation and fecundity. Our results can be used to predict long-term phytoplankton dynamic
