The $^{10}$B+$^{120}$Sn reaction has been systematically studied at laboratory energies around the Coulomb barrier: E$_{rm LAB}=$31.5, 33.5, 35.0, and 37.5 MeV. Cross sections for the elastic scattering and some reaction processes have been measured: excitation to the $1^+$ state of $^{10}$B; excitation to the $2^+$ and $3^-$ states of $^{120}$Sn; and the one-neutron pick-up transfer $^{120}$Sn($^{10}$B,$^{11}$B)$^{119}$Sn. Coupled reaction channel (CRC) calculations have been performed in the context of the double-folding S~ao Paulo potential. The theoretical calculations result in a good overall description of the experimental angular distributions. The effect on the theoretical elastic-scattering angular distributions of couplings to the inelastic and transfer states (through the CRC calculations) and to the continuum states (through continuum-discretized coupled-channels calculations) has been investigated.

In this work, angular distribution measurements for the elastic channel were performed for the 9Be+12C reaction at the energies ELab=13.0, 14.5, 17.3, 19.0 and 21.0 MeV, near the Coulomb barrier. The data have been analyzed in the framework of the do uble folding S~ao Paulo potential. The experimental elastic scattering angular distributions were well described by the optical potential at forward angles for all measured energies. However, for the three highest energies, an enhancement was observed for intermediate and backward angles. This can be explained by the elastic transfer mechanism. Simultaneous $chi^{2}$ analyses previously made for elastic scattering and fusion cross section data for the $^{6}$Li+$^{208}$Pb system is extended to the $^{7}$Li+$^{208}$Pb system at near-Coulomb-barrier energies based on the extended optical model approach, in which the polarization potential is decomposed into direct reaction (DR) and fusion parts. Use is made of the double folding potential as a bare potential. It is found that the experimental elastic scattering and fusion data are well reproduced without introducing any normalization factor for the double folding potential and that both the DR and fusion parts of the polarization potential determined from the $chi^{2}$ analyses satisfy separately the dispersion relation. Further, we find that the real part of the fusion portion of the polarization potential is attractive while that of the DR part is repulsive except at energies far below the Coulomb barrier energy. A comparison is made of the present results with those obtained from the Continuum Discretized Coupled Channel (CDCC) calculations and a previous study based on the conventional optical model with a double folding potential. We also compare the present results for the $^7$Li+$^{208}$Pb system with the analysis previously made for the $^{6}$Li+$^{208}$Pb system.

Cross sections for $^{40}$Ca + $alpha$ at low energies have been calculated from two different models and three different $alpha$-nucleus potentials. The first model determines the cross sections from the barrier transmission in a real nuclear potent ial. Second, cross sections are derived within the optical model using a complex nuclear potential. The excitation functions from barrier transmission are smooth whereas the excitation functions from the optical model show a significant sensitivity to the chosen imaginary potential. Cross sections far below the Coulomb barrier are lower from barrier transmission than from the optical model. This difference is explained by additional absorption in the tail of the imaginary part of the potential in the optical model. At higher energies the calculations from the two models and all $alpha$-nucleus potentials converge. Finally, in contradiction to another recent study where a double-folding potential failed in a WKB calculation, the applicability of double-folding potentials for $^{40}$Ca + $alpha$ at low energies is clearly confirmed in the present analysis for the simple barrier transmission model and for the full optical model calculation.
The multinucleon transfer reactions near barrier energies has been investigated with a multistep model based on the dinuclear system (DNS) concept, in which the capture of two colliding nuclei, the transfer dynamics and the de-excitation process of p rimary fragments are described by the analytical formula, the diffusion theory and the statistical model, respectively. The nucleon transfer takes place after forming the DNS and is coupled to the dissipation of relative motion energy and angular momentum by solving a set of microscopically derived master equations within the potential energy surface. Specific reactions of $^{40,48}$Ca+$^{124}$Sn, $^{40}$Ca ($^{40}$Ar, $^{58}$Ni)+$^{232}$Th, $^{40}$Ca ($^{58}$Ni)+$^{238}$U and $^{40,48}$Ca ($^{58}$Ni) +$^{248}$Cm near barrier energies are investigated. It is found that the fragments are produced by the multinucleon transfer reactions with the maximal yields along the $beta$-stability line. The isospin relaxation is particularly significant in the process of fragment formation. The incident energy dependence of heavy target-like fragments in the reaction of $^{58}$Ni+$^{248}$Cm is analyzed thoroughly.

Based on the extended optical model with the double folding potential, in which the polarization potential is decomposed into direct reaction (DR) and fusion parts, simultaneous $chi^{2}$ analyses are performed of elastic scattering and fusion cross section data for the $^{9}$Be+$^{28}$Si, $^{144}$Sm, and $^{208}$Pb systems at near-Coulomb-barrier energies. We find that the real part of the resultant DR part of the polarization potential is systematically repulsive for all the targets considered, which is consistent with the results deduced from the Continuum Discretized Coupled Channel (CDCC) calculations taking into account the polarization effects due to breakup. Further, it is found that both DR and fusion parts of the extracted polarization potentials satisfy the dispersion relation.
