We consider a type-II superconducting thin film in contact with a Neel skyrmion. The skyrmion induces spontaneous currents in the superconducting layer, which under the right condition generate a superconducting vortex in the absence of an external magnetic field. We compute the magnetic field and current distributions in the superconducting layer in the presence of Neel skyrmion.
Superconductor-ferromagnet heterostructures hosting vortices and skyrmions are new area of an interplay between superconductivity and magnetism. We study an interaction of a Neel-type skyrmion and a Pearl vortex in thin heterostructures due to stray
We experimentally study effect of single circular hole on the critical current $I_c$ of narrow superconducting strip with width $W$ much smaller than Pearl penetration depth $Lambda$. We found nonmonotonous dependence of $I_c$ on the location of a ho
A superconducting rod with a magnetic moment on top develops vortices obtained here through 3D calculations of the Ginzburg-Landau theory. The inhomogeneity of the applied field brings new properties to the vortex patterns that vary according to the
The behavior of a disordered amorphous thin film of superconducting Indium Oxide has been studied as a function of temperature and magnetic field applied perpendicular to its plane. A superconductor-insulator transition has been observed, though the
We report drive-response experiments on individual superconducting vortices on a plane, a realization for a 1+1-dimensional directed polymer in random media. For this we use magnetic force microscopy (MFM) to image and manipulate individual vortices
